New Reverse P with Tele Headstock "build"

I use "build" loosely, considering it's more of a legos style assembly, but still...
Sounds and feels great!

I'd love to put a lefty tele neck on my Silver MIM P that has a fretless neck. I'd want it where the finish is worn out, I'm not fussy could be authentic wear or just a well done relic road worn. I always look on reverb for them.

I think it looks absolutely beautiful !!!! Utterly gorgeous!!!!

The only way you could make it better would be a swap to a tort pickguard.
I was THIS close (small finger gap) to using a red pearl pickguard, but I went red instead. Actually, what got me thinking on this color scheme was a picture of one of Dee Dee's old basses

Dang, I didn't even know, but dang those are some beautiful basses! :cigar:

How would you compare the reverse pickup arrangement soundwise to the standard arrangement?
That setup looks really good.
In isolation I can hear the difference for sure-- just like everyone says (a bit fuller on the D and G). I have a set of SD SPB-2s in there. When I had them in a jazz bass in the traditional orientation, they didn't have this much bark, though I also switched pot values and stuff, so who knows what really caused it. It sounds really nice (though I still have to work a little more to balance the sounds because the D is pretty quiet right now).

Great colors, love the Tele headstock.
Same here, I like the red and the red tort PGs both. The slim headstock is just a cool shape and not so bloated as on the P-bass, looks like my Godin Freeway4. Only thing it lacks is the nice slim headstock painted in the body color, red silks. I don't know squat about the reverse pickup points but I'm ready to believe it because I read it somewhere. Oh, yea, here. Nice looking bass.

It looks to me like an improvement on the original Pbass. Have you done the same under that lovely pickguard too?

Passive/active/both, series/parallel, tone bleed & ranged pots, extensive shielding, etc?

Once I added a detuner to mine, I preferred it to a 5 string.
A real secret weapon, congratulations.

Under the pickguard, there's holes from another pickguard I was going to use, all filled with toothpicks :dead:
Just don't look under there! But it's all shielded for sure, which means you also can't really see much of the routing I did for the reverse p (since the bare wood is covered).

I’m in love.
I just got back from rehearsal. I'm even more in love

I've always been a fan of the reverse pickups.
Was it much effort to have them in this configuration?
The body was routed for the standard position, so I had to use a forstner bit to open up the cavity. It's certainly irreversible surgery (unless you'd literally put a block in, refinish, etc), but I didn't mind because if worst came to worst, I could always cover that part with the pickguard. All of that could be avoided by finding a nice body with a bathtub route, but here we are!
