Oh Nino, how you tease me. You and beautiful creations! *shakes fist* One day...
I was kinda jonesin' for a Valenti, and then I priced out how much a Warmoth would cost with all the specs of what I'd get from Nino right down to the knobs, wiring, and copper shielding tape. Let's just say that Nino came out in a very, very good light. I now have severe gas for an ash bodied four string fretless in mary kay white translucent stain with black hardware and a lined ebony fretboard with DiMarzio's and an Aguilar OBP-1, and a matching headstock to cap it all off.

That, and that red jazz. God damn, that thing is beautiful.

I would like a trans emerald green ash bodied jazz with basslines Aggie OPB-3 or a Sadowsky pre, maple nech with black blocks/binding, chrome hardware and black or black pearloid p/g. Can you imagine that! One day...

Definitely black pearloid. I love it! Sounds like it'd make one hell of an instrument.

Hi, thanks for posting the link to the whole gallery.. I should have done that myself.
Curbow hasn't done too many Jazz basses. I had the idea for that bass and I was lucky enough to be able to meet him, discuss the bass and have him build it. He picked the top from his private stash, and it came out great.. there's a lot of subtle quilting under the birds-eye.
The neck is rockwood. There's a section of Curbow's Web site that explains what it is -- basically, birch veneers saturated with phenolic resin and baked to perfection. Feels like wood, behaves like graphite. The perfect neck material, IMHO.

Thanks. I wasn't familiar with Curbow until your post. I'd love to experience a rockwood neck/board. The prototype fretless 4 in the gallery is so cool.
