Question of the hour: What would you guys rather have:

The Fender jazz bass of your choice , OR
A custom selected jazz bass with parts of your choice from Warmoth.

Warmoth....
I love their parts. And I love the satisfaction I get outta makin em. And I would love to have Nino assemble me one, too.

Cool, a Dark Angel fan.

So, those Ibanez J copies are called "Challenger"? Looks great.

Below is an update of my blue '74 as it has a tort guard now. The guard on the fretless P is new too, but that's another thread I suppose.

Only some of the Ibanez Js were in the Challenger series. The Challengers were only made in 1977 for a few months because of lawsuit issues with Fender.

I'm almost positive that the 1977 Challenger series was not the only to include a J bass knockoff.

Ive been wanting to show this thing off.

Its a brand new MIM fender with goodies
its got bartaloni pickups
j-retro preamp and a badass bridge.

My ESP is jelous bigtime.

It just needs some TI jazz flats and then Ill be the best bassist in the world. Crap, i forgot the practice a few hours everday step didnt I?

Im totally stoked to have a really nice setup now. I always tell people when graduate college Im gonna buy all the equipment i really want, but at the rate im goin, ill have it in a year ;) For that matter, check out my keg-o-rator in the backrount.

Next step, all tube amp!!!

SCHWING!

Im thinking of asking Carey Nordstrand if he'll overwind some jazz pickups and pop them into a cover the size of my EMGs. The bass sounds killer, but Im leaning more towards that classic passive pickup sound these days.

You have to describe the sound of the bass when you get it.
