FYI...I have the V5 5-string in Tobacco Sunburst and it weighs 9lbs 14oz on my scale. Beautiful, great sounding bass!

I lowered the action, have a set of flats waiting to go on, black hardware coming and roasted maple to make a finger ramp. I love it.
Second month with my natural V5 four strings. So far so good, great feel and sound but with one issue that I can't understand: The signal level even for a a passive bass is SO low in both pickups that I have to push the preamp of my amplifiers almost to the max to clip. I have raised the pickups to the limit but it changes almost nothing. Anyone has experimented the same?

Thank you guys. Not a real problem the low output so it sounds wonderful and I'm not short of watts in the rehearsal, just it's strange this behaviour. Cheers
Weird question, but how does it look under the pickguard? Is the routing clean like Jaco's bass? Btw, you got yourself a beautiful one!
The DJ 5 is on my radar, too. Tough choice! This is the bass I wish I had been able to find last fall when I bought my Skyline DJ5. Roasted maple neck, rolled fretboard edges, and passive? Ughhhhh.
Oh well, I'm not about to put my DJ5 on the chopping block. But if they release a passive fretless version of their P series I may be persuaded to spring for it.
If you don't mind a PJ setup with a thin J style neck:I really wish they'd release a passive split coil only P bass (P5?) as well. That would be a killer alongside the v5
If it can be helpful to anyone, I did two reviews of both V5 4 and 5 strings.
The 5 string one is available now with English subs. The 4 string review will be
released in a few days. All the best!
Sounds good, but I'd like to hear more of the low B.Sounds really good!
