New Sire P Basses!

I have made this matrix from the infomation available on Thomann's website:

upload_2017-6-30_17-32-57.png

(*) Thomann says : Tort pickguard for all V9 models. I think it's a mistake.

Matching the information seen on Sire's US website (pictures show different specs and are probably from a test batch).

Here is the latest email that I received from Sire:

"The pickguard should be listed as Pearl, not Black. Sorry about the confusion. We will make correction asap.

The estimated ship date for your bass is July 15th, 2017 as stated on your order confirmation.

Unfortunately we have to notify you that the new P7 and V9 models are currently expected to be delayed.

There were some added process in production being that these are new models we needed more time for the produciton.

We sincerely apologize for the delay. The new estimated ship date has been shifted to 8/15. Your original date is 7/15 and we will ship your bass first as soon as we receive it."

Well I am having second thoughts and thinking in cancelling...not sure if a freebie will make up for the wait. :(
Plus after all this time there are still no sound samples....how difficult is to record a 30 seconds audio clip nowadays??

IIRC from what they told me, they let the customers provide the reviews and sound samples so the instruments can speak for themselves. One of the dumbest things ever if you ask me. And they lost my business for it.

I completely understand and agree.
I've been hesitant on pushing the button . Probably won't.
Wait too long and other basses start to catch my interest.

Yup. That's what happened to me. Ended up catching a Squier VM P5 on here. Saved a couple hundred bucks and incredibly happy with it.

I was in their website checking my order and now the P7s shows the estimated shipping date as 30th August 2017.

I really like my V7 and that is what pushed me to buy a P7 however Sire is really upsetting people (me included) with their lack of feedback and what seems to be little regard for customer satisfaction...again all this time and besides no audio samples, no decent pictures as well?

Is it Sire's post-purchase support that fails or is it their lack of response to those of us who "maybe might buy it if they do things just the way I like it."? I don't know Sire basses at all but based on what I read here at TB it's the "maybe" crowd that's unhappy. Those who have bought them seem generally satisfied.

The post purchase assistance is fine...we have a bunch of TBers happy with Sire's customer support and the basses have nice quality and really don't have issues. They are missing the boat (and customers) on what was mentioned above as well as long delays in delivering products.

I don't know. Can we really be blamed? I don't think seeing pictures of or hearing a sample of what I'm willing to spend $700 on is unreasonable. In mid May they told me the following regarding pictures and sound clips:

"More pictures will be uploaded on the website soon."

"We'll leave the testing to our players Bob . A lot of our players did not even tried our basses when they preordered theirs. "

I'm not asking to try the bass. All I wanted was to see a picture of hear a sound sample. They were unable to do that for over three months since I started posting in this thread, so they lost my business.

I'm wondering if they're having some
serious design or production setbacks.
