Thanks, I saw that one, too. There aren't any available at Sweetwater, MF, etc. Shipping on the Sire U5 bag is a hefty $35. I would pay more for a better bag/case as long as the U5 wouldn't be swimming in it, as in a long-scale bass bag/case.
If it helps any, I put mine in one of my Gator Stat/Tele cases (the one with the rounded corners) and it fits very nicely, if not perfectly. The inner length is 43", leaving enough space between the tip of the headstock and the case for it not to pose any issue. The body of the bass fills the well leaving little space to move around. It doesn't fit "tight or snugly" but it does fit well enough that the upper horn of the bass rests gently up against the middle compartment, thus not allowing the bass to move any more forward in the case than what it is. The lid closes fully, easily, and without any obstruction.
Just received my replacement and there are two glaring differences I noticed right out of the box.
1. The replacement U5 is much much lighter. The old one was ~7,2 lbs, the new one is ~6 lbs. The piece of wood used in the fretboard in particular seems to be of much less weight, as the neck dive issue is far less present with the replacement U5. There's still some noticeable pull, but it's not that bad.
You may want to rethink that
2. The pickups are sitting much higher on the new U5. On the old U5 I had to put some cardboard of more than 1,5 cm thickness under the pickups for them to have an appropriate string distance. Output was good after I did that, but since I lack experience I wasn't sure if by doing so I was just trying to compensate for a problem already present with electronics/wiring.
Turns out it was just bad pickup foam day in the indonesian factory....

I searched but couldn’t find a Gator Strat/Tele hard case that has a 43” interior dimension. Do you know the model name?

I don't know the model name, but it's the exact one in the pic I posted. I'll look around and see if I can find out what the model name of it is.
It looks like it's the GWE-ELEC model. I know it shows an Int overall length of 42.75", but there is still at least 1/2" to almost 3/4" of space between the tallest part of the headstock and the case. Hope this helps.

It does, yes...but it's possible that they labeled it wrong. The one I just gave you the dimensions to is the one I have. Here's the link I got the info from, and it's absolutely 44"l. Weird...but true.
