New Squier 2025 Tele and 5string basses

Fender’s summer release is here! And leading the way are a couple of beautiful new models from Squier Classic Vibe 2025.

I am really looking forward to play one of those Telecaster basses. Is the humbucker the same widerange humbucker as it is in the vintera 2?

Many years ago I had an original ‘73 Tele bass for a couple years. Even though I think I could appreciate it more now than I did 20+ years ago, I would not be interested in owning one again. I would be interested in the earlier Tele bases that were essentially pre-‘57 Pbass reissues, but the big chrome humbucker up against the end of the neck version is a muddy mess that I couldn’t use in very many situations…

I do like the looks of the Jazz…

I had one of the Vintage Modified Tele basses like the one in the middle above, the body has a beautiful veneer front and back to make it look like ash, but the body was actually basswood or something else very soft. I am not a fan of wood bodies that are so soft they allow for screws to strip out easily. The one wide range humbucker at the neck heel sounds good but is very limited, I wouldn't call it a muddy mess but it it definitely a one trick pony. I like a bass that has a humbucker pickup at the neck heel for a the second pickup.
A Classic vibe 60's Precision with a Thunderbird pickup added at the neck heel would be really nice.
Another nice combo would be the 2025 Classic Vibe Tele Bass Mocha pictured above with a Thunderbird pickup added in the P position.

I still have my Vintage Motified Squier Tele-Bass from around 2010. It is stringthrough and has a way better two-saddle bridge then the new Vintera 2 basses.

The new body should ve poplar, right? But I dislike the bridge and the no-string-through-construction.

Awesome news! I've been hoping for a Squier Tele bass since Fender issued the Vintera one. I shall be on the lookout for one of these for sure. I really like that finish, too, although may be swayed if they do a cream one. I still bitterly regret parting ways with my Fender Tele back in the 80s. GAS ignited!

The Mocha one in poplar looks badda2ss and I have a Thunderbird pickup with neodymium magnets (916 Pickups) sitting here looking for a home in the P position.

My Vintage Modified Precision Bass (Tele bass) had a Fender logo on the pickup, the Classic Vibe pickup says Squier on it but I believe they are the same pickup. The Paranormal has two pickups and I think the middle position pickup must have a bit different spacing to get the pole pieces to line up with the strings.
I would guess the same overseas company supplies them for all of these basses.
I would guess the one on the Vintera II is the same one that was on my Vintage Modified and I bet Fender/Squier buys them all from the same supplier.

The Fender one released in the early 70's was my first pro bass. I eventually traded it for the same reason you described, just not versatile enough, and passed on the recent Vintera II for the same reason.... though nostalgia gas is strong with the lower price now of the Squier (and that beautiful mocha finish.) I may get one but would have to put a jazz pup in the bridge position or something that would make it more usable for me
