New Squier? Or used Fender?

Funny, but I was getting that same feeling for bringing up some opposite points. Not to mention some people who evidently skipped high school physics...

Let's see, someone dismissed the plywood Squier as urban legend, when I commented that I'd seen one. There are other examples here, notably concerning used EB prices. That's where I decided I was up to my neck in Squier fanatics, and I dubbed them fanbois. They don't want to be confused by the facts, nor can they be reasoned with, just like any other fanatic. Evidently many of them can also not be bothered to read any of the other posts in this thread.

Is there a serious inferiority complex among SOME Squier owners? Their behavior here seems to indicate that. I mean, I have a FrankenP with a Squier body, and it's OK, nothing special. I've played the new Squiers. Again, nothing special. Great value for money, for sure, but let's get over the "everyone hates us" madness, eh? There's a reason Fender has an entry level line of instruments.

Surely you're not serious. Either that or you've simply stopped reading the rest of the thread.

Use 'em if you like 'em. But don't be bringing that "better than everything else" line to every thread about these basses. That's fanatic, as in the modern colloquial fanboi.

EDIT: I'll summarize in short: "Meh" basses IME. Great value for money. Nowhere near the cat's meow for tone. Perplexed by those who think they are, especially when they get silly in their arguments, and start making up reasons they're right, such as imaginary aerodynamicists.

If you readjusted your pricing to be alittle more realistic like, Squier $300-350 and the Fender $500....I would chose the new Squiers because the $500 Fender would MOST likely be a MIM piece of blah....and off the record I would buy a 83-84 squier MIJ and have a killer bass with better quality than both. Just my feelings and opinion....maybe worth 1-1/2 cents...or maybe not.
