True. Wouldn't it be interesting if the shop was in the next town over or even your town? A bass that made a round trip.

I got a hybrid Cleveland about a month ago. It came with laminated sides, noticed by my luthier, confirmed by Wil.

Yes, there was a bit of a mix-up in Germany. We had specified laminated ribs on the ply basses, solid on the hybrids. A few hybrids came in with laminated ribs; we cannot discern an appreciable difference in sound. The laminated ribs are actually more expensive to make.

For the record, Cleveland Lam's have laminated ribs, Hybrids have solid ribs (other than the few mentioned above).

Great looking bass Tom.

There's been 2 minor changes/add ons to my bass.

I've started using a black bib from Gage & due to a bit of over zealous end pin tightening, a Goetz pin installed. When I order another bass from Arnold & Wil-I'll probably upgrade straight from them. Still Weichs w/a Realist. I really dig this combination. Loud with low action.

When I visited Arnold, I played on a ply Cleve. After getting my LaScala, GAS had been non-existent. But as I debate what to do with my old kay, I keep thinking of what color varnish I want on my new Cleveland. God.....this is crazy.... I must resist..... ever so slight GAS pains.

A little aside from the subject at hand - does anyone know who sells a bib that has a strap that wraps around the whole bass? I'd like to use one but don't like the slippage thing that happens. PM me if you know of one. Thanks, Ike

Check out the bibs from Gage. I'll see if I can find a pic of my bass with the bib on.

You can kind of see where the strap ties onto the bass.

I've yet to experience any issues using it. I put the bib on in I think October or so.
