Exactly! Except TC took 236 watts of raw power and made it 750 watts AFTER it was cooked on the RH750. Imagine what they could with 800 watts of raw power. 2500 watts?

Probably a dumb question you guys have covered but will the BH series do sharp tunings like the RH's? It doesn't look like they will but didn't know if they utilize a "two light" approach or something like that?

Fast and slow blinkies when you are warm and cold and two lights when you are there. It's very responsive but not as precise as RH450 version. Still more than adequate.

Sure could, yes. Need to pay close attention to what your cab is saying to you as you play.

Don't know. The BH550 could be a 300 watt amp. Power has not been verified.

If you use a lot of compressor ( or if it does a lot of compression at high power ) and/or if you boost your bass... you could probably cook a 300 watt speaker with less than 300 watts of power. More of a thermal cooking and overheating of the voice coil. Depending on your tone, the speakers, the amp .... you could probably find a way to damage the speaker.

As they often say around here... use your ears. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.. I think people say that if your speaker starts losing volume over time while you are playing.... you may be overheating and cooking the speaker ( voice coil )... don't turn it up. Turn it down or off, or reduce the bass or compression.

My BH800 will be here Monday. Can't wait to put it up against my Tone Hammer 500. I really, really like the TH5 but I miss the toneprint option ever since I sold my BH250. I do remember that 250 doing well paired with my Bassic and Dually cabs. I can't help but think he added power of the 800 will help to add some heft to the notes but, we'll see...

It sounds REALLY good. Much like the BH250, only better. Sounds like every bit of 800 watts. Also I don't if it's my imagination but the TonePrints seem to sound better than they did with the BH250. Unfortunately I can't keep it as my daughter was in the hospital recently and the bills are coming in.

I wouldn't be surprised. There was a significant difference between the RH450 and RH750 heads, the difference was tonal and perceived output, I thought the RH750 sounded much better all the way around. Eventually the overly compressed sound of the RH750 wore thin for me. I just hope the new BH heads don't have the same issue.

I find the BH250 to be surprisingly loud driving my two 112 cabs in a pretty loud three-piece band. I've never had to run it past 10 o'clock. I laso run a n RH450 with a n RS212 and RS210 cab and it is extremely loud, again with gain set around 10 o'clock. I have no idea if the amps put out what they claim, I only know that they sound great.

Right. But this is still missing the point. It doesn't matter how loud, or good 'nough, people feel an amp may be.

The point is your RH450 is a 236 watt amp. That goes against what is claimed, and people want to avoid that horse spit.

OK, let's call a spade a spade. The RH450 may sound great in the living room, but on a GIG at GIG volume it sounds like arse because it is IN FACT Highly Under Powered. Its actual output is NOT as claimed and it does not deliver in real world application.

It is what it is, nothing more nothing less.
