Is there anything Mike Myers did that was funnier than Sprockets? I heard he junked the movie idea because he didn't like the script. Shame. BTW, I have the BH800. Very happy.

Hi, I did.

I emailed tc service and they helped me out with it. It's still a little noisy but you basically go into clipping before hearing the noise. My tests were without signal, but when you plug the bass in you'll see the signal is strong enough for both live and studio recording. Not the best DI out there but very usable.

Yes, it does help! I'm interested in this amp, but if the DI is noisy, it's basically useless to me. I can easily carry around a quiet outboard (ground-isolated) DI box or put one on a pedal board, but one of my reasons for buying a head that has effects available is to avoid doing any of that. Also I've had good luck with TC's effects in other situations.

So am I hearing that in normal live-stage situations (non-clipping) this noise you mention is not an issue? My benchmark is whether or not the sound tech asks me to lift the ground. When that happens it tells me the DI is noisy. Thanks for jumping back in on this topic! Tom

I've used the DI aplenty live and for casual recording a couple times and never had a problem with noise. I did have a sound person two days ago keep telling me that I was too loud but I have a feeling that was him more than the amp. I just turned the gain way down and turned the master up and he didn't complain.

Also, cabs have changed but still carrying the BH550/800s. I have a BH550 as my rehearsal amp and 800 as my gigger.

Reviving this old thread as I just picked up a BH800 very reasonably. What a beautiful sounding amp, and the effects are a lot of fun.

Did anyone ever figure out a ‘flat’ setting for these? To my ears, with knobs at 12, the low end seems very slightly boosted, the high end fairly muted. It responds nicely to EQing though, a very nice sounding amp.
