New: Tech 21 VT-500 Bass Amp

I will have one next week. I've owned all of the vt related products and have noticed that the eq'd sound slightly different in each. I found the vtrm to sound the best. Maybe this has more to do with possible extra headroom in the vtrm? Either way, I hope the vt500 sounds as good because, the vtrm is one of those desert island pieces that you know will always work.
I'm in the same position, I've owned many Tech 21 products just not the VT Bass 500 or the VTRM. I preferred the eq voicing of the VT Bass version 2 better than the VTBass DI or version 1.
I'm sure I will own a VT Bass 500 in the future & maybe have Josh at Broughton build me a custom variant of version 2 like you Kringle with some other eq options.
I have one Bag End S15d as well, need another in the future. Great cabinets, addictive punch & clarity, would be a lot easier to schlep as compared to my 810 Classic.

I only got to try the amp out through my pair of bag end s15d cabs for about 45 minutes last night but, I'm pretty happy with it. The mid shift down to 500Hz helps remove the scoop and give a more solid feel when using the sansamp side. Big improvement there. I would say it is powerful enough for me using the very efficient bag cabs. It is voiced pretty much like the vtrm which, I attribute to it having the 30v headroom. I actually prefer the completely unsansamp side. The bag cabs really need no eq so, you can just work the volume control and have a great tone. Oh, the amp goes into clipping more gracefully than some, which is nice. Some of the class d amps are a little more powerful but, I'm liking this one the best and it will be the first one that I will hold onto for any length of time.
I'm going to be receiving a broughton band pass pedal soon and using its hp dilter, I am betting that I can get a,less squishy sound out of the sansamp side. It definitely worked with my custom overdrive.

This rig is really grab and go. I can adjust many things to use other players cabs, I can go totally do with solid results, etc.
I've play mine through my Markbass Traveller 1-12" cab,and it kicks hard.
I've also played it through a friend's 4-10 Bergantino cab,and it powers that quite nicely,too.
It does through a pair of bag ends but, they are as efficient as you will find. Haven't had time to try my other cabs yet. I've been busy.
For the time being I'm running through an Acoustic 410. Not the classic vintage stuff. Newer one. Sounds great and plenty of kick. Two gigs with it and some nice compliments from band mates and musicians in the crowd. At some point I'll go to 2 112's.
The amp definitely kicks. With my 8 ohm GK CX210 I have the master at 1 o'clock with the VT set close to what TECH21 calls the "Clean Tube" setting and it is deep and loud. Through my 4 ohm Bergantino HT212 at the same volume I fear for the integrity of my house! Very Ampeg tube-like.
I just thought that I'll have to try this amp with guitar into a guitar cab. I liked the vtrm so this amp should rock, especially with the mid shift option.
I tried my dual humbucker stray through headphones for a little while last night. Sounded great and once again, the mid shift to 500Hz made a big difference. I got some twin reverb sounds easily and some Marshall like tones. For guitar, it actually sounds like a mix of fender and ampeg guitar amps. I definitely could see guitar players using this as the basis of their rig.
