New: Tech 21 VT-500 Bass Amp

About 3 years after it was suggested on TB, it looks like Tech 21 have come up with a good idea:roflmao:. If I wasn't up to my eyeballs in gear I'd order one.
I bet this turns out to be a home run for them.

Ahem...tech21, it's June 12th. I believe most would consider this to be mid June. Still waiting on that new amp!

(Foot tapping)
Being a long-term Tech21 RBI fan, I am ordering several of these amps along with the 112 cabs - my rep told me they would ship August 1. Hopefully I will have them the week of Aug 4th. I wish they could have gotten the 112 weight below 38 lbs, but that isn't bad. By comparison the Traynor TC115neo is only 39.2 lbs and is somewhat less expensive, while the GK neo112 is 34 lbs and is somewhat less expensive.

I only skimmed this but am shocked I didn't see any comments about it, but a 38lb 500w class D??? Did we go back in time and technology?
It's that super D-size - HA! Guess you got that from skimming my post, please re-read, but I was referring to their 12" cab.

I stand corrected. I was at work and cell phone in depth skimming is not possible. 6lbs seems more on point. Still, I'll pass... though I am sure this amp will sound good, I am also sure it doesn't doom. If I want VT bass ill stick with the pedal, then again if I want VT bass I'll pick up an SVT. 6lbs,38 or 100 makes no difference to me. I already haul an 810 and 215.

Anybody demo one of these? They are supposedly ready to ship this month but the company has been taking preorders. One thing Im mystified at is that on their order form for it it says its $499 for a 500w head. In comparison, I believe (and could be wrong) that a Eden WT550 (similar head) retails for like $1199 and typically sells for $900. So it seems the Tech21 is a deal.

Also, if it's $499 on their website does that mean it's going to be $499 at retailers? I can't imagine it actually selling for like $3-something.

No worries. That thread has been coming and going for awhile since the amp seems to have been delayed. I'm thinking the $499 is going to be the same price at every retailer unless you get them to to discount it.
Right on. Thanks for the info. BTW - seems like a steal to me. If I had to guess I figured MSRP would be like $999
