they dont build 'em like that anymore, and a tube amp to boot. This should be a standardized test for any amp manufacturer. I know reunion blues cases would do this with a guitar inside and it would survive
That Traynor test was cool.
There's a Peavey silver stripe combo at 5:38. I wonder which would survive if they repeated the test, but dropped the Traynor head on the Peavey combo.
My guess...both amps would still work, but the concrete sidewalk would need to be repaired.

Yup, lots of change but never like what we're experiencing right now. I was called The Hammer because I tested each amp with a mallet, hit them at strategic places to help root out cold solder joints et al. We had to be careful with tube amps, so they didn't get the same treatment. Mixers were tough, we tested EVERY connector and knob/pot... it was crazy. It's true that we pride ourselves on the reliability. I can't wait to get back to work and it's only the second day I've been off!
I had an old YCV40WR. It was my first tube amp. Cool unit, but I quickly grew away from the Traynor sound. Bass though it's all I've ever used. Best prices, amazing warranty, legendary reliability, can't beat it imo.
I cant wait till you get back to work either! I think there might be a YBA100 with my name on it.
That commitment to "bulletproof" gear on the job has certainly helped give Traynor gear the reputation it has.
I suggest you write to traynor directly, they can help you, usually exchange between Canada and UK work very well, at least on our side, wish you the bestAmp looks great, anyone know if you can get it in Europe? Last time i checked there wasn't any European dealers.
Apologies (i haven't read all 10 pages) anyone know if this has an active or passive (Fender style) EQ?
It is not a legend, it is happen for real.Legend has it that Pete Traynor used to throw the original YBA-1’s out the second floor window to see if they’d survive severe abuse.
I think the new testing regimen will be ok.
Last time I sang it it was at primary school, I would need to rehearse it a bit... But cheer to people at Yorkville! They are really deserved to product.
