New Traynor YBA 100!!

The manual isn't quite clear on that. It says it's passive and "cut only". But apparently a passive tonestack means something different in TB land. I've never quite found the "flat setting", but then again I never cared enough to look much anyway - the 200 sounds great in any case.
Seems like a cute amp. Now just to wait for the 20 tube watt Traynor, or a fifty. The one 200 watt 106" combo that they came out with actually surprised me, a lot of their other stuff seems to generally be, "the same basic thing everybody else has been making for a few years, but this is our house brand."
I say this being a guy who knows it's a quality product and enjoys his ys15 very much. But if they were a bit quicker to the punch with their 500 watt ultralight head I probably would have walked out with it instead of my ampeg by price alone.

Dude if they retail that amp for $650 in the states, I am soooooooo buying one. Like I'm not even close to needing one but I don't give a crap lol
If they retail for $849 CDN I might buy one, and I DEFINITELY do not need another amp. But 100 watts of tube goodness at 22 pounds? OMG yes.
I will buy one if I can get my hands one one here in America.

Seems like a big price jump but maybe that's what it costs to build an extra 100 tube watts?

Don't worry, the PF-50T is about the same price as the YBA200 at L&M if I recall.
But yeah, $650 seems like a great price for this, I'm going to keep an eye open for one.
Edit: I kinda said earlier about waiting for a 20-watt one, I'd happily take a 50-watt one. I like the YBA200, but it's a lot of head and a lot of money IME. This might just be the ticket if and when I decide to get back into gigging and IF I want to go the tube route.
How about a little swim? If you leave now, you should get here by the end of March when the amp will be available. Plus, you’ll be in great shape!

I have a YBA-1 Mod-1 head that's the production model of their 50th anniversary YBA-1. 40 watts, old style 'range expander' mid and presence controls, ch-1 and ch-2 can be jumpered together or set as gain and master and it has a ppimv 'attenuator' that works really, really well down to its 2 watt setting. I use it with a Berg CN-212 and it keeps up nicely at reasonable band volumes.
It was supposed to be a guitar head for my studio but with the way you can configure the pre-amp it's one of the most versatile bass heads I've owned.
Used ones are around, usually in the $500.00 range or so.
