New Traynor YBA 100!!

There is a reason that Traynor makes that 1510. And there is a reason that it is so popular.

My own observation (based only on what I have seen only at my local L&M) is that 810s sit there for a long time. Even the used ones that are going for a reasonable price. But it seems like they sell a 1510 about 3-4 times a year. And the rare used ones that show up never hang around.

Lord, I wish this had NEO speakers in it though. Yikes, I'm old.

My old Yorkville 1x15 had a tweeter, something I wish the Traynor had, so I was definitely working to dial in any great mids. But now it's like a new sonic spectrum has been opened!

I had the 1510 with a SB500H, killer sounding rig but like you I wished it was lighter. I could get it up and down the stairs myself, but it wasn't pretty.

Indeed there are Traynor 810's in my area for $300 CAD. I almost bought one for $250 a few years back but came to my senses just before pickup. So that in USD is pretty much free

I personally prefer bass cabs that don't have tweeters and am a big fan of the current NEO115 and hoping to grab another one used.

Far to heavy for me, but I'm sure it sounds amazing. My heaviest cab is an Orange Neo212 @ 40lbs. Very pleased that I can move everything on my own now haha.

Anyone else get a chance to test out the yba100 mid knob above 1k? I spent a short while yesterday going through settings. It's super subtle if it is In fact doing anything above 1k. The lower half of the knob otoh is very impactful to the tone.

Yes it is affecting the sound above 1k. I hear the difference on a Berg NXT212. It is subtle though.

My standard complaint about buying used Traynor gear - it holds its value too well.

I had to get a little bit of adhesive off the grille, but that took a whopping 5 minutes. Not one mark anywhere else. Man, I even made the GC guy hoof it to my car! I got it for half the price of what a new one would set me back.. It's really an amazing difference in sound, I was merely thrilled before, now I'm ecstatic!

People smack talk mixing drivers all the time here, and I was among them.

Then I played one of those.


Also - saw a yba100 a couple weeks ago in Moncton. I decided against playing through it though, because of the pandemic, I kinda figured it sort of uncouth to manhandle gear that I didn't necessarily want to buy in the first place, in the midst of the current pandemic. Don't get me wrong it's cool, it's just that a tool I don't need is still a tool I don't need.

Idk what you mean. I find it to Make all kinds of difference with a BF Two10 and that’s a tweeter less cab.

SPL. Do you think by adding the Traynor 210, that the YBA100 will easily do lite to medium gigs without PA support? I still have not tried that combination.
I am still debating adding to my 15“ cab YBA100 setup another 15 or a 210, although frankly I cant personally do the weight of the Traynor 210. Pretty sure I am going to add another lightweight 15 although I recently had a lightweight 210 and loved the sound.

Photo was at the Black Swan in Toronto (Canada). Using a pre-production prototype with a DHX210 (very, very short sample run). It was more than enough and with PA support, marvelous.

Cool! Worked on the Heart Of intro Saturday after Mark Smith posted a tutorial for it. Not easy to master for me as I pretty much suck with a pick. I love the diverse tone you’re getting. Nice playing.
