New Traynor YBA 100!!

yes

Photo was at the Black Swan in Toronto (Canada). Using a pre-production prototype with a DHX210 (very, very short sample run). It was more than enough and with PA support, marvelous.

“DHX210” ? Going to become a thing? Guitar cab?
Please shout in the powers that be ears, that us older guys would love to see more lightweight design neo based cabs.

Yeah, with PA support, I think most any cab with the YBA100 will do and I bet that setup had a great sound. But I play loud, many times with no PA support, and don't think a single cab will do more than lite blues gigs when no PA support. I have yet to test the YBA100 with a 15 and a 210, which I think may actually bring the SPL up there to louder gig level if the cabs are efficient.

So...
1. Preproduction explains the knobs.
2. DHX210 - so something bass focused to match the DHX112 and/or the DHX212?

My brother picked up a DHX112 to go with his Ceriatone amp. Great cab.

We had made a couple sample run along with the DHX410 which was a bit longer lived, I think there were only 6 made. They're really guitar cabs but work well with bass. It's sealed but a metal plate can be removed to make it open back... I prefer sealed 10s.

First used one to hit the TB Classifieds...

Traynor YBA 100 For Sale

I read the ad and I get where the seller was coming from. I was excited that there was a YBA100 at my local L&M. I rushed down to the store to try it out.
Played around with it for a half hour or so and then left empty handed. Not my sound.

Don't get me wrong now. I love the YBA300, but the YBA100 sounds nothing like it. There's no real headroom available in the YBA100 when the plan is to play fairly loud and clean.

I prefer those knobs, that's me ;-)

The cab was from a short sample run a long time ago. Similar to the DH410, it's convertable, remove the back plate and it's open back, with the back plate, it's sealed!

Yes it is affecting the sound above 1k. I hear the difference on a Berg NXT212. It is subtle though.

I fired up a guitar through it and it's super subtle indeed. 3k at full boost actually adds the slightest amount of clarity/shimmer to the guitar tone. I would expect it to add honk but nope. Will be interested to see how it affects a different cab with 8s or 10s.

Imho, somebody wanting to play fairly loud and clean should not be looking at 100w all-tube amp.

The fact that amp distorts at lower volumes is a disadvantage for some, and an advantage for others...

Could yoou keep us (poor dealerless guys'n'girls) updated on how that turns out, please?
Cheers.

Hi,
My YBA100 arrived yesterday. I changed the inside connector to 240AC (230AC as well) position. No big drama, just power on and start to play. Only information for that operation is in YBA100/300 schematic diagram ( I keep it little odd ).
Anyway you must change fuse and mark the new fuse size T2,5AL and what voltage unit is using now.
YBA100 is also beautiful from inside. For my ears the sound is rich and full compared to D-class units.

Well put man. Exactly. There’s no way an amp like this is going to make everyone happy. It’s impossible based on the wattage.

I suppose Traynor does not expect the average customer to do it themselves but they have prepared for the option to easily make a batch for European distribution as well. Judging by your work environment in those pics you are not the average customer, though :) Thanks for being the pioneer and glad to hear it was that easy and works as intended!
