Do you mean the 15 210 single cab Traynor makes? This thread has gone in a slightly different direction, but I gotta say that the YBA100 through the 1x15"/2x10" combination is the sound that I've been seeking for 30 years. Bravo Traynor, bravo.

I'm running one of these:Do you mean the 15 210 single cab Traynor makes?
I like the way I start to get drive just after noon on the gain knob, but this would be useful information none the less.Question maybe for @GrapeBass or anyone else who may know.
Would it be advisable if I swapped a 12AT7 or something else in place of the 12AX7 in the preamp to get more clean headroom before the preamp distorts? Right now I am using the -6db input, but thought using a lower output preamp tube might give me more clean headroom before going into distortion. Also which tube would I replace? Looking left to right, there are two tubes behind the Gain knob and one in back of the Master knob. Can you please tell me, going left to right what each preamp tube controls?

If you haven't tried this already, you may want to try turning the master all the way up and use the gain to set volume levels. That should give you the most clean volume possible with the stock setup and then, if you want it, crank the gain some more and get power tube distortion.
Thanks, I have tried that. I have read the entire thread. I was just looking at it from a different perspective. I have a high output passive bass that when I dig in it seems to be too much for the circuit and I was wondering if an AT7 would tame it some. BTW I am loving the warm creamy tones I can get from this amp.If you haven't tried this already, you may want to try turning the master all the way up and use the gain to set volume levels. Yep. That one is on my radar. I'm also thinking about the numerous ads on Kijiji for people that will make boat covers etc.
I have a bass case that Long and McQuade gave me that is very well made,, Rouge Valley...Part of Yorkville soundYep. That one is on my radar. I'm also thinking about the numerous ads on Kijiji for people that will make boat covers etc.
I bought a cheap Rouge Valley gig bag for a bass. I didn't realize that Rouge Valley was part of Yorkville.I have a bass case that Long and McQuade gave me that is very well made,, Rouge Valley...Part of Yorkville sound
Perhaps they can make you a nice one?
I’m having one made by Tuki covers. The price was as much as a Gator bag but is sized to the amp. Should be here in about 10 days. I’ll post a report when it arrives.Anyone found an cover for the YBA100 at a reasonable price?
Otherwise my options are to do some exacting measurements and have one made or take my chances with sewing my fingers together.
So what I think you meant was you want the amp to be louder before it distorts. The only cure for that is a bigger amp.
