New Traynor YBA 100!!

The amp was sounding great at rehearsal the other night.

What do you think of the lighter knobs? Sure is easier for me to see, but I’m not sure if I like the look. May leave them on for a few days snd see if they grow on me.

Question maybe for @GrapeBass or anyone else who may know.

Would it be advisable if I swapped a 12AT7 or something else in place of the 12AX7 in the preamp to get more clean headroom before the preamp distorts? Right now I am using the -6db input, but thought using a lower output preamp tube might give me more clean headroom before going into distortion. Also which tube would I replace? Looking left to right, there are two tubes behind the Gain knob and one in back of the Master knob. Can you please tell me, going left to right what each preamp tube controls?

Spoke to the designer briefly and he said that it shouldn't make much of a difference and that turning down the Gain would basically do the same. He also mentioned that you'd notice more of a headroom difference on a guitar amp. I hope this helps. Jb

The bone colored white knobs with lines look good (IMHO) but I do prefer the knobs that we use on the Traynor DW10, vintage and lined.

I appreciate that. I like black too, but with lines. I’ll have to look those up.

In the meantime the set I bought came with red and also black with white lines. (They were very cheap BTW) I’ll try the black and see if it works out.
