New Traynor YBA 100!!

Wanted to add plus for Traynor is the tuner output that mutes the amp while tuning.

Just curious as to how the volume of the PF-50T compares to the YBA 100?
How much does the PF-50T at 50 watts benefit from the (relatively) heavier transformers?
How do you do that? I don't think it it supposed to cut the signal... I use the tuner in the effect loop so it cuts when tuning.
When you mute the amp, the signal still flows through to the Tuner o/p jack.
Very subjective, but close to double, diming the master and turning input up to just prior to distortion.
Just got my replacement unit. I do know that UPS delayed my original delivery by several days, and it obviously took a hard shot during shipping. So hard that there was an actual divot on the bottom front of the enclosure. (I know you're supposed to be able to throw Traynors off roofs and all, but uh...do that to somebody else's amp, not mine!) So I'm not sure that had anything to do with it, but it couldn't have helped.
Anyway the new unit sounds terrific, is super quiet and all seems well. Hats off to the Traynor/Yorkville warranty department, and BIG PROPS to Mike Lomax at LoMax Sound. I believe his commercial user handle on here is
bebass Sho Me Music. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Troubleshooting with me on the phone after 10pm, keeping me completely informed during the whole process, and even went so far as to pay for my new amp upfront so I would get it shipped ASAP instead of waiting on the return to get there over a holiday weekend. Super impressive. So if you ever see him on Reverb just know that he's the real deal.

So, I’ve sort of been avoiding using any sort of tone shaping pedals because the amp sounds so good on it’s own, but the Tech 21 Steve Harris pedal plays quite nice with the YBA 100. In particular with my Rick 4003.
And as for dirt, the Tech 21 Geddy YYZ sounds superb, as does my trusty old Fender Sub-lime fuzz.

Called Traynor on Tuesday. Really positive experience all-around.
I was really looking for their input as to the next best step based on my description and our conversation.
Ended up talking to a great Guy in tech support who was a veteran at Traynor.
I switched the original tubes back into the YBA 100.
In the process, I cleaned up some of suspect pins and hit the tube sockets with contact cleaner.
Most importantly, I adjusted the bias up a bit, per recommendation.
That was the suspected cause of the “crossover distortion” I was hearing, and it seems to be gone.
The amp sounds really good now.
I’ve been working from home this week so I’ve been able to let the amp “idle” for periods, and have not heard any of the “static” noise so far.
Only time will tell for sure, but I’m reassured after talking to Traynor.

I love Traynor amps. They’re reliable, sound good and priced reasonably.
Yes, when I was going through the troubleshooting process the Traynor tech guy said that the bias should be adjusted to where it just barely hits the yellow LED.
Wouldn’t it be nice if, like an automotive dealer, they would have a trade-in promotion where one could trade in their older Traynor/Yorkville amp or combo (like my old but still running BM400 combo, my first “real” bass amp) for a minimum ($200?) trade-in value on this one? Just food for thought for the good folks at Traynor.
They can never have my 1983-84 Bloc80B combo! Bought it new and still sounds great.
There are good dealers on Reverb and this sounds like one of them. Thanks for the info. If we patronize sellers like this, it’s a win win for everyone; manufacturer, dealer and us. And it helps keep small businesses afloat.

I have been seriously eye-balling the new Big Block 115 combo! What does it weigh?
Where are you putting the SH and the YYZ? In front of the amp or in the effects loop?
Just in front of the amp for now. Today was the first time experimenting with them and the YBA. I used to put it through the effects loop of my SB500, I'll eventually try that soon.
