Getting to be outdoor venue season and I'm thinking of adding a 2nd cab to my setup. I'm running an 8 ohm single 12 which has worked fine for indoors and controlled volume early rock and roll band I play in, but I will be sitting in with a rather boisterous blues rock band and there PA is pretty lousy so I can't run a DI into there. I have an ampeg 15 I can borrow, but it is a 4 ohm model. I realize coupling the 8 and 4 ohms will bring me lower than recommended, but can it be done without damaging the amp?

I wouldn't do it. I'd see if I could source a second 8 ohm cab or use the 115.

New as in 30 years old lol, I wanted to see how the amp sounded through one of those big old cabs and when I saw one pop up locally for $175 figured I would try it out. At lower volumes I like the resonance switch engaged but at higher volumes with more tube break up seems to sound better with it off

Hey all!

I just got a Traynor YBA100 and I've been trying to read up on how to bias the amp. I was wondering if anyone found directions on how to do it yourself or, otherwise, might be willing to give me a rundown? Mine came with a new set of matched 6L6GC tubes (uninstalled for shipping purposes) and I just want to make sure I don't mess things up.

I have a compubias I've had for years. But I hear they don't make them anymore. Consider this and then plug it into any multimeter: Nobsound Vacuum Tube Amp Amplifier Plate Bias Current Probe Tester 8 Pin Socket for EL34, KT88, 6L6, 6V6, 5881, 6550, KT66, KT100, KT120, 7027 (CT1-P, Plate Current)

One place to read the manual is here.

It says "When changing output tubes adjust the bias so that the indicator lights on the rear do not glow".
It says that blue is too cold and red is too hot. It says to adjust so that neither blue nor red is lit.

The tube pairs on a YBA100 are not inner and outer as on a Fender. The pairs are the two left and the two right.
