New Vox Basses

Invalid Link Removed

Sure, they are about 75% novelty... but there isn't much option for that kind of money if you want those body shapes. :ninja:

I think it would be cool to hack them, get rid of the onboard amp + speaker, new pickguard, move the pickup around, add another one... and generally put hundreds of dollars into a bass that probably only costs $299 (if its priced anything like its guitar counterparts)

I love Teardrops (Especially Mine) but I think the pickguard on the Teardrop looks ugly. The Phantom PG looks just right to me.

Thoughts? Rants? Flames? :hiding:

I find it to be aesthetically unappealing. And it's not as cool as the Silvertone Sears used to sell that had an amp built into the case.

I wish the price was higher because I forsee completely impassible sidewalks in downtown Portland in the future. Those darn hippies.

4" speaker. 9 volt amp. Yup bet that sounds good.

Cynicism aside, I do dig the novelty factor of the vox shapes. I'd like to have the Kawai hollow teardrop. Or a Wyman. Never happen but, who knows.

That said....well...I can only add that it is an abomination.
