New Years a Here...Who has Gigs, and are you doing anything special?

I kind of started turning down these gigs a few years back(newly married) no Im not PW I do 75 shows a year on the avg but I like to spend time with the Mrs but an old friend asked me to do a gig at a private party at a night club and I said sure,now I quit one of my bands in October and joined some guys up the road and they asked me to also do a gig and I told them I was already booked,so after we start chatting it turns out they were one of the other 4 bands booked so I havea gig with 2 bands at one club but I would like to be home by 1ish due to maybe a little of the rock n roll life

Yep, got a kick-a$$ gig in CT for at least double scale pay. We did Halloween at this same place and it was like...remember those videos called "Girls Gone Wild"? Kinda looking forward to it..!

we are playing a small pub party, will be fun, and better than doing nothing, but not our first choice of NYE gig.

My cover band has turned down NYE gigs the past few years but we received an offer this year that we couldn't refuse. A high end winery custom built a large rustic "party barn" complete with stage/bar/BBQ/fireplace patio and asked us to christen it for about 100 of their wine club members. Gig includes catered dinners and drinks for the band and our spouses. The gig is out in the boondocks but there is a RV park on the property. This gig may last til dawn.

I'm playing from 7-8 at my church, then heading 30 minutes down the road to a fairly good size party and playing the rest of the night as the house bassist. I'm playing with my band and with several different acoustic acts and a few other jazz guitarists. Should be fun and crazy hectic.

We have our usual gig (10 piece horn band, funk, soul, etc.) at a fancy but SMALL restaurant in town. We are probably going to be in the middle of a blizzard warning so I'm guessing that if the place stays open (which it probably will) we'll be playing to a wife or two, maybe a couple groupies, and the staff. Load in and out in 30 below wind chills and blowing snow. Can't wait. Unless it's a "magical" night music wise (not holding my breathe after 2 not so special rehearsals) this gig wlil not be worth the hassle or pay.

Nawww we don't play that way.We all get along well and wont cause an issue over a gig although I would love to play as I said. Besides, he writes all the songs and sings 95% of the songs every show..cant replace. Have a great show!

I'm not in a band, but I will probably be playing plastic instruments while staring at a TV with my friends. And we have to dress like rock stars. I'm going as Lemmy, with short hair. I may have to find a wig. And a mole.

Acoustic duo. Me on acoustic and vocals and my singer on vocals and some tambourine though a Bose L1 tower. We've played this gig the last three years. I'm guessing it will be pretty mellow. It's in a beautiful Hilton hotel, but there are two large weddings there that night and they were pretty booked up. Not sure I'm going to use my room this year...
