New Year's Eve gigs..... Who's got 'em?

The band I play fiddle in is playing an early dance set as part of our local First Night celebration. I'll be done by 9 and then go see other friends play.
One of those 'is it just me' things:
Back then, a lot of hotels/motels that had bars or lounges in house would advertise a NYE Party, etc., with a buffet after last call and a room included in your ticket to the shenanigans (to keep you and yours out of the clutches of the DUI Gendarmes). Seems like I never see these any more.
I once played a sitdown in a joint in a county where you had to stop at midnight Sun-Thurs, and till 2 only on Sat/Sun. Wouldn't you know it, NYE was on a Tuesday night that year. So . . . . . . . 5-4-3-2-1, 'may old acquaintance . . . .' and BANG, we're off and I'm home by 12:30.

Yep playing our "home away from home" bar in Birmingham. We even learned a few new tunes. Cannot wait to play Lady Marmalad!
Yep. A town in North Carolina (Burgaw) has the NC Blueberry Festival. They've decided this year to have the Blueberry Drop for NYE. A local welding school has built a large blueberry for the drop. Inaugural event but they're estimating 1000 people or more! The cool part - they're dropping the blueberry at 7:00 PM EST, which is 12:00 AM GMT. We get a cool gig and it's early enough to get home by midnight to celebrate with the family.
I'm doing a country gig at the American Legion hall in Luling, Texas. My schedule says the gig ends at midnight. Strange timing I think. Since it's a weeknight and the bar probably has a 12 o'clock license, we'll just see what happens. I'm cool with one more tune into 2019 if necessary. But the pay's not up to NYE standards so not much more. I took that chance when I moved into the whored-up Austin market. On the upside, I should be home (about 25 miles away) before all the amateur drinkers are out threatening my life on the road.

Small neighborhood bar.The $$$ is pretty bad but the party's good & the food & drink is free for the band.
There was a time when I wouldn't do a New Year's gig for low bucks.Now that I'm semi retired I can do a gig for fun.
Last year I played there & it was a blast!

My jazz trio is playing the NYE party night at our local hotel's restaurant -- they're doing a big production this year with an Agatha Christie whodunnit murder mystery thing too.
I have no idea what that means, but if anyone tries to get me to go into the drawing room with a candlestick I'll be hitting them with my bass and running in the other direction.

First NYE gig I've played in a few years tomorrow night. We went down tonight and did set up and sound check. New digital board so we all agreed it'd be better to work out the bugs in advance. Which btw, wound up sounding great by end of soundcheck. The pay is good and we get a buffet, were offered rooms, but we all live close so turned those down. Should be a fun night! Hope everyone thats out gigging makes it home safe and sound. Amatuer night for the drinkers, so keep an eye out on the way home ! 
Jazz gig, 7:00-9:00. I get home in time for treats. Played same place last NYE, with 2 ft of snow in a storm, but this time warm and rainy. Funny how playing the gigs are easy, gett'n to 'em and parking is usually the only problem.
In the last 45 years missed only a handful of New Years gigs. I've played with guys who have done 50 New Year gigs in a row, a pretty good run.

Nothing. I haven't connected with any steady work since I started playing again a year ago. Prior to 2008, I always got asked a few times for NY jobs.
And, you know, I am happy going to bed early. I hate NYE gigs. The last jazz gig I played way back in 2008 in a steakhouse, a patron at the table in front of us keeled over. We decided to take a break when the EMT's came in and started working on him. The manager came running out screaming for us to get back to work.

I have three hours at an Amvets Post tomorrow night. Should be cool.
City Of Austin's NYE concert. We hit 7-7:30 PM. Festival style. Then going home to my family

Oh yeah outdoor gig... should I bring the brand new bass or the one I've been playing for 2+ years and I already know how it reacts to cold weather outside?

Workin' my day job 6pm-6am, holiday worked pay! Pretty sweet gig to me, my schedule always falls that way, so I know not to plan anything for it.
Yup, I have a gig tonight at a Bed and Breakfast/Restaurant/Bar type place that has been booked solid for months. I've played there before, so know it will be a great time. Only problem is driving home at 2 am with all the drunks and deer that are sure to be out.
I've got one playing from 10 pm to two am...Really would rather be staying home though.
I don't even think there is going to be that great of a turn out because there are so many other things going on in the area that a lot of our crowd will go to. Phish at MSG, Dark Star Orchestra at the Wellmont, 3 other G.D. type bands playing in the area as well...
