If you can find a Floorboard to go with the BPP, you’d have more flexibility with some aspects of signal routing, like separate tone profiles for front of amp VS PA.

Another plus used to be that you could load guitar and bass features packs into the same hardware, something that Zoom still doesn’t offer (if that stuff is still available from L6). Fewer limitations in terms of the length of your signal chains, too.

However, The Bass Pod Pro is a bit of a boat anchor- it’s several generations behind current Line 6 hardware and software.
Repair support is probably pretty iffy at this point, and I ditched mine because I found most of the bass amp tones muddy and uninspiring.

If you want to move up from the Zoom, it would make far more sense to look at L6’s latest amp modelling technology, like the Helix Lite.

Thanks very much. You got me thinking about repairs if were to ever need it. I thought about the HX Stomp but I’d like to see more updates for Bass. I don’t have the use right now or funds for a $500 used unit. Maybe I’ll pick up a B3n used.

I'm contemplating starting my rack up again by getting a secondhand Line 6 Bass Pod Pro (for amp emulation mostly). Instead of creating more lifting though, how does this Zoom unit compare to the Bass Pod for people who have tried both?

I used the floor pedal version of the pod (XT Live? Something like that) for about half a decade. Different form factor than the rack, but same guts. Zoom sound blows it away. Prefer the form of the Zoom over the floor pod as well (never used the way volume pedal, and my main sound is only 3 pedals to begin with...)

also, pod has a huge ac wallwart. Zoom works on normal guitar 9v dc center neg power supplies.

I ordered a B3n. Got a new one out of Canada for $150 USD that ships free to the US. I think it will serve it's purpose. The only question I have is if there is a way to have one output effected and the other output clean (to send to an amp). No issue if not, just curious.

Yes but not the Zoom itself...

The helix units do have multi routing for instance

I had to buy a One Control white loop switcher which has true bypass. Works wonders.

it would have been a nice option... Just a little final routing module.

Had a chance to play around with this a little more and what a vast improvement the distortions are over the previous B3. The amps to my ears sound like improvements as well. I like the switching between patch and stomp mode. Patch mode allows me to put a clean channel in one spot and a driven spot next to it for easy switching.

I've had a zoom b3n for a while now, great little unit. I exclusively used it through an amp but recently decided to give the headphones out a go. I have a couple questions regarding this feature.

1. How can you make the headphones out stereo? When I play sound only comes out of the left speaker on the headphones.
2. I'm using an adapter I bought in a random store, but will get reaaaaally low output and distorted sound if I plug my headphones all the way down. To function normally (without sound on the left ear, anyways) I have to plug it like in the pic below, not all the way down. This is obviously annoying because any minor movements causes the sound to fade.

Anyone had experience with this? Any help is appreciated. I'd love to use this as a practice tool with headphones more often.

The headphone out is stereo. Buy a better adapter maybe ?

Adapter is , I agree. You need to push the plug all the way in to get both signals. Adapter's busted.

your adapter isn't stereo. needs to be TRS (two black stripes going around instead of one).

Wow, that's a clever system. Hadn't noticed the stripes. I definetely bought a mono one, so that's on me. I just got a stereo adapter, so I'll test it out in the afternoon and let you all know!

I have never used a noise gate in all the time I've used effects, figured it was more useful for guitarists. I was wrong. The ZNR is utterly fantastic when I kick on the B7K sim. I don't hear any dampening or loss of sustain to my ears. Really love this multi.
