New: Zoom B3n Multi-Effects

Now if someone would demo the 1176 model and see how it stacks up to a Cali....

...and does the 1176 have a "Brit Mode" setting (all ratio buttons pushed in)? :woot: I'm just as anxious to audition the new compressors as I am the amps and cabs. If the 1176 can give me anything near what I was able to get from my EL8 Distressor, it will be mic-drop time for me. LOL.

So I just learned that the BOSS GT-1 has a dry mix programmed into some of its effects. I'd really like to see a comparison between the GT-1 and the B3n.

If effects are your thing, it's hard to overlook the GT-1. However, it's not a bass product, so if you're looking for amp/cab emulation, you'll have to twiddle and diddle because I'm not aware that it addresses those needs directly with any amp models you'd expect to see from a dedicated bass processor. To the extent someone is looking for an inexpensive effect-only unit that takes advantage of the Boss stable of available effects and parameters (such as wet/dry blend), the GT-1 is pretty cool.

Well, this looks like a documentation screw up. If it is modeling an 1176 the REL is of course the release which adjusts how long the compression stays engage after the signal falls back below the threshold. The text here does not relate to what the release button does, and sounds like it should be the main description of a different effect.

I just read an incredibly long thread on TGP about the GT-1. Not recommended. The crux of the biscuit is that you can't turn on and off individual effects within a patch and scrolling seems to be a pain. So there goes that idea.

Pedals until mini-Helix, and/or apocalypse, whichever comes first.

Does the GT-1 have seamless preset transitions that include spillover trails for echo/reverb? If so, that feature by itself is a huge WIN for a lot of players. Most typical bassists, though, don't usually lean to heavily on spillover effects but rarely.
 
What would be also a nice feature, and I don't think it would be very hard to do, but very useful, if in the motronome you could set any time signature. I know, there are some who won't meet ever with 11/8, or 7/4, but some are. :) So, what if you could set anything from 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21/1,2,4,8,16? Let's hope there will not be any worse time signature than 21/16! :) I know, you can download a metronome program for cellphone, but..!
