New: Zoom B3n Multi-Effects

For those who already have a G3n it will be great to allow the download of bass amps and effects via guitar lab... Maybe with a cost....

I also agree. Not happening with this product line, so oh well. As the saying goes: it is what it is. Pay-for packages as a trend are not very popular these days. Line 6 wore that idea out.

Zoom do that with their MS 100 BT. A start package and then purchase for personalization...

Hmmm. Good point.

The MS-100BT is recently no longer for sale in North America.

My prediction is for the appearance of a new "Universal" Multi-Stomp based on the new DSP with both guitar and bass models available for individual purchase. To have the current crop of Multi-Effects support both guitar and bass models for free would perhaps undermine this future revenue generator.

Zoom managed to remove some of the brittle 'fizzyness' on some of the drive/distortion sounds!

But, I really dislike the design and look of this pedal. Look at the still image below - it REALLY looks like it was made in 1990! (& not in a good way).

Very outdated, plain & plastic-looking, no chrome bezel, embossed 3D logo, blue screen, or anything to make it look even remotely pleasant.

Zoom put zero effort into the aesthetic of this pedal (just look at almost ANY other multi FX, including the B3, and see that they all have some visual/professional appeal).
I know, I know... "looks aren't everything".

Cue all The Zoom fanboys to tell me how all of my compliments of this pedal are correct, and all of my criticisms are wrong! ;)

On a more positive note - the Cab sims definitely sound more open, and less claustrophobic/small. The fidelity has clearly improved over The B3 model.

What do you guys think?!

I cannot decide what I dislike most about these videos?
  1. The audio quality
  2. The bass playing
  3. The product lighting
  4. Use of factory presets
  5. The fact he got a B3n before me
... Aha! ;)

Yes it does!
That SVT will be the main reason why I buy this pedal .
The fidelity & depth is definitely there this time around :bassist:

Me as well, all I need is the SVT and I am done.

This model finally has the presence and grit of the real thing!

Certainly, should Zoom later create downloadable models of the Acoustic 360 and B-15 I will not mind ;)

I agree with you about the "open-ness" of the tones. Would rather each video spend a couple minutes with each amp model and cab sim in order to hear some variations on the tone, but hey, it's early in th game. Yeah, sure, the pedal (edit: physical design aesthetic) is nothing to write home about. NOT sexy. I've personally never been bothered by what a piece of gear looks like if it serves me well. MLK Day has recently passed, so to steal from his "I have a dream" speech: judge your gear on the content of its tonal character and features, not by the color of the box and what it looks like. ;)
