New: Zoom B3n Multi-Effects

Long time B3 user here. I get an 'access denied' when clicking the link so I can't see anything there.

While having more effects would be nice, it's disappointing that there is no built-in expression pedal to make it a one-box-drop at gigs. I'd buy an old B3 with a built-in expression pedal before I'd buy more effects without one. Or if we could have options for an external expression pedal and a non-latching switch for tap-tempo that would be of interest. I never use the DI or Aux in those are non-issues for me. We'll wait and see....

Link doesn't work anymore. Maybe Zoom took it down to re-add the XLR.

Zoom B3n Multi-Effects Processor for Bass

^^^

Looks nice, next multi effect I'll get though will most probably be the Zoom MS-70CDR.

And then I guess that's it for a while regarding digital multi effect units.

Priority right now is buying a Behringer V-Tone Bass BDI21 to use with my active PA speaker with disabled horn to bi-amp my Trace Elliot.

Next on the priority list will be a Joyo Orange Juice and next again a Joyo California Sound.

I don't have the biggest budget for expanding my gear list, so will be a while before I get to the Zoom MS-70CDR.

Another bad: no separate stomp switch for the tuner. I'm not sure I've ever seen a multi with that feature, and it's a big part of why I don't use multis. Do the people who design multis actually look at real pedal boards and how they're used? It shouldn't take a tap dance to turn the tuner on and off. It should be its own separate stomp, or else don't bother including the tuner at all.

The tuner is accessed simply by holding the last pedal on the bottom row for more than a second.

A dedicated pedal for this (without a one-second delay) can also be connected to the external pedal jack if so desired.

And all this (tuner, tap tempo, guitar algos) is why I'm sticking with pedals until I can afford a Helix (or they make a cheaper one). But, if this thread did one thing, at least it made me make a decision. So thanks!

I have loved and used my Zoom B3 going on 5 years now and I plan on getting even more enjoyment with the B3n.

Based on the sounds of the new DSP alone, I believe they knocked it further out of the park and simultaneously eliminated the shortcomings of the B3 for which we never did receive a firmware update for. ;)

Zoom B3n Multi-Effects Processor for Bass

Thanks!

I'm sure it has a lot of what some people have asked for, but other than a few more effects at once, it's got nothing that interests me. I'll keep my regular B3 for the foreseeable future. Disheartening.

Looking at the specs of the thing it is using the same processor as the original B3 so I wonder what has been beefed up under the hood? There is nothing about an upgraded chip like was proudly displayed from the B9u to the current crop of pedals.

Perhaps Zoom is taking Line 6's cue with the details of how they get to the final product being shrouded in mystery.

The DSP is new and has been significantly updated in this latest generation despite the lack of details at this time.

The audio samples I have heard sound fantastic!
