I've finally joined these forums after spending many nights reading through the knowledgeable and interesting discussions on here.
I also noticed there were a handful of fellow Brits on the boards struggling to explain how bad the live music scene is here - that it doesn't really exist (nor do all the things that go with it).
Riders? Huh? Unless your name's Mick, Keith, Paul or Ringo, I don't think you really get them here.
Here you turn up, no soundcheck, decrepit PA, get stuck with a sound engineer whose other role for the evening is 'urinal hygiene engineer', play for half an hour, get unplugged and replaced with the DJ (who "plays" for 4 hours), get told you didn't bring enough people to the show and get told to bugger off and never come back. Then you go outside to find your car's been clamped and make a loss on the gig before you've even been paid.
Anyway, this place looks cool and I hope I fit in.
