Thats several hundred more than i would pay. Unless its amazingly good I'm really upset. I blame talkbass for the hype. I bet he read it and now thinks he can charge more :\

What do you think how accurate could the tuner be on that pedal? Could it replace my TU-2? And I can not see the reason why this thing could not replace octaver, fuzz or filter. Especially when it has analog circuits from the pedals that are originally fuzz and filter. I`ve been using G5 also as a octaver for several months now and have no complaints.
I can see where your coming from, but chunk stuff is pretty pricey anyway. The Agent 00Funk MkII has a list price of $350 alone, as does the Brown dog. I know this is a mix up of those effects, but it has extra stuff too. If $599 is the list, its kind of expected.
You can take a couple of hundred off for street price I would think.
If $599 is street, then its pretty over priced.
Anyway, I guess its all just text and speculation at the moment. We shall just have to wait and see what the released product is like and how its priced.

It's an amusing juxtaposition that this pedal is being hailed as the Second Coming, the pedal to end all pedals, and then posters moan that it's "expensive". I mean, did they really think it was going to be cheap?
I also can't get over that people are getting so excited about 3 pictures and a feature list. There's no sound clips and there's no real description of what it does. All there is, especially in this thread is all kinds of inferred meaning, conjecture and hype. What if it's a basically a glorified SYB-5, with a tuner?

I am still axious about this pedal. I recently filled out my board, and would need to create more space, but if this really is a Deep Impact killer, then, I may have to replace it....

We already know what the filter and the fuzz are going to sound like (and I would've bought at least the fuzz before now if I wasn't waiting for this pedal to turn up). The waveform synthesis is what will make or break it for me though.
What makes you think it will be such a bad unit to use live? And according to their website the internal signal path is reconfigurable.
Considering the website description and post #159, I'd say I have a very good description of what it does. Anyone who has played with a 00Funk and a Brown Dog knows what kinds of sounds you can get from the pairing. Add in an octaver and synth waveforms and it really isn't hard to imagine. At least it's a much better frame of reference than it would be if most other pedal builders said they were going to build a synth. The octaver and synth waveforms are all I want to hear from clips. I've already been convinced that you can get great synth type tones out of the 00Funk and Brown Dog.
As for price, I'm not sure why people are surprised. The other two pedals list for $275. Why would Chunk include the circuits and all the controls for those two pedals as well as all the other new features and then price the OS less than buying a pair of their original pedals? That's just robbing Peter to pay Paul. As it stands, the price they are giving is only $50 less than buying the 00Funk and Brown Dog. Seems pretty fair to me.

And this is what everyone is going off, but say the octaver tracks really badly, glitches all over the place etc then it becomes a bad pedal, say the tuner won't tune below A again bad pedal. I do agree I'm excited about this pedal and I would buy it for that much and I can "imagine" what it sounds like, but I've imagined alot of pedals before and been quite disappointed in the past. This is just to re-enforce Toasted's point of view on the matter.

How well could it track, though: really? I'd *love* to have such a unit if it works as advertised, but is it physically possible?
I'd be happy to be wrong, but I didn't think it was possible to reliably track bass, since the frequencies are so low. Are there any comparable units that track well? What-about with double-stops & chords?
I thought you needed special pickups to track properly, but obviously, I'm no expert. My information is perhaps rather dated (I'm pushing 50), and based more recently on my Line6 Bass PodXT which has terrible tracking.

I love synth bass effects but I`m not even sure if I`d need OS or if I`m ever going to have enough money to buy one. I just love to speculate about OS. IMO it is very ambitious project. And who needs soundclips when we have pictures...
