C'mon Jimmy, you need some imagination like the blokes on Wall St. Perhaps he can package the cost of both into a fund backed by the security of one, sell shares in the fund promising a return that will buy 4 Ocatavius Squeezers, re-brand the original Octavius as the Super Octavius and then sell it to someone for twice the price. What can go wrong...?

Purely for the sake of discussion, someone with friends or family in Aus could buy one at the Aus price (I think its about $550AUD). The cost of transporting it to the UK is fairly minimal, particuarly if you knew someone who was on their way over. Converted into Pounds, the AUD price is about £210. The UK retail price for one is £549. I'm sure you could do the math. I imagine that is why the BassPeople offer is no longer available to Europeans and Americans.

I only purcahsed one for personal use, as at £210 it seemed like a great buy. Not sure I would even look at it at the UK retail price. HOwever, after I purcahsed I did think about the buy two, get one free offer that is available if you have the resources, but I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of trying to move it in the UK for £400+ without really knowing what the market will tolerate for it.

I've had for a couple of days now, and I'm still learning more and more cool things about it! Download the manual off the chunksystems website and read the whole thing BEFORE you get the pedal. Otherwise, like me you scroll through the presets grinning like an idiot and slip into a wonderful bass time loop, where you loose track of days... There are so many things I want to try on it, but I always get myself sidetracked just playing through the pedal.
The tracking is awesome!
That said, the tracking on my EBS octabass is awesome too, but some TBers don't seem to like it....
With all synth, envelope, and octave effects pedals, I find you have to think about how you are playing and be realistic about what you can expect.
On gigs I've only used my 5 string JJ Modulus Flea and my 5 string fretless Fender Jazz Deluxe.
I found that it was the sounds slowing me down as apposed to the tracking, in that some of the sounds take a long time for filters to open and close. All the speeds are editable, and I just switched it off or went to another sound for faster lines...

Oh and there are sound clips on the chunksystems website...

It is amazing, and Richard Cartright is a genius! and a great help!
I'm already thinking what I could do with two of them!
In short, buy two and send me one! I want as many as I can get!!!

Tracking is superb! However it's important to adjust the sensitivity according to your instrument. I'm using it with a Spector NS2 and a revamped Nordstrand/Aguilar-equipped fretless Tune Bass Maniac (thanks Matt from Bass People!!) and sensitivity is slightly different for each instrument which affects signal input and cutoff. It's an easy adjust, but it makes a big difference.

Like jimmyjam said... download the manual first to save time in lalaland. I'm loving several sounds straight out of the box, and feel that I haven't even got started on customising it yet.

I was surprised when I found it here this morning (it only got posted yesterday). Last time I had strings sent from Sydney using "Express Post Platinum" they took about 5 days to get here... thats after the post office manage to lose my first order and George sent out another. The original order arrived about a month after it was posted:rolleyes:
