5. Please, please, please don't give up on the pedal until you have put a decent amount of hours and effort into getting to know it and use it effectively (I suggest 10+ hours). You wouldn't have given up on playing bass if you couldn't master it in one or two sittings, so why wouldn't you give the same courtesy to a completely new piece of equipment that is almost as important in your playing?

If it's not important at all, then why did you buy it in the first place? $550 is a lot to pay for a curiosity! I for one will be putting in the time to get the sounds I want out of it (which I know I can get), and will reap the rewards of that effort. Will you?

1) Confirmed. Freezing no longer appears to be an issue. Register online and you will get the new firmware.

3)The signal level adjustment is easy to use, it's like tweaking the gain knob on a new pedal to find "unity". But you CAN hear as much of your dry signal as you want - you just have to learn to program the thing, it's not that hard.
4)Not all the presets are useless. A few of them are very conservative actually. Others are dead-on: want to play a Bernie Worrell/DrDre bass synth? Grand Pimp Daddy is your friend. Beastie Boys "Sabotage" fuzz: Stick it to the Man. It all depends what kind of music you play. Also, remember the first time you played with a Bass Microsynth? You will have to adjust your playing style for cetain effects. Also, many sound better when you switch to just neck or just bridge pickup.
5)If it's too complex for you, sell it to one of my bass player friends. They all want one after hearing me demo mine.

OK I was probably a bit hasty with condemning the presets... I find them to be much more suited to lead instruments, so I've been using them with my electric viola with some success (except it doesn't like my harmonics, probably too high up to track). But on the bass... I dunno, I just can't see myself using them and still being the driving force in the music - a lot of them take away too much bass.

But each to their own. Glad most of my post was appreciated.

I didn't send the squeezer out today as planned
but the last sound clip from TheBigO is great.

Who's with me?
Should I start a new thread just for the clips instead?

I'm looking for an excuse for not sending the pedal back
but i haven't had any luck so far with it.

Well the thing is there are like 60 parameters, not to mention the tracking and VCF sensitivity to consider...

I think most of us are waiting for the exchange to open on the chunk site - though we could be sharing the files anywhere. But it's not practical to just post the settings, as has been done with the BMS, for example.

That said, I don't think BigO's last clip (which sounds awesome) would be too hard to approximate by tweaking a preset...

I'm using my Empress delay with the high pass filter on. That clip also has a big chorus sound courtesy of the Boss PS-3.

I bought the Squeezer for raw, more modern synth sounds (G-Funk fuzz synths, stuff like Yoshimi by the Flaming Lips, Eye by Smashing Pumpkins etc) but I was wondering how to get late 70's/early 80's proggy synth sounds and I found that using it with a chorus is the key.

For what it's worth, that's a mildly tweaked version of the preset "Who's Your Daddy".

I'm experiencing an interesting phenomenon with my OS, when playing with an active jazz vs a (hotter) passive P.

With the P plugged in and in bypass, with no other pedals or anything present, I can still hear whatever effect is selected under my 'unaffected' tone... As I scroll through the presets, again while in bypass, I hear the effect ever so slightly under my bass tone - until I get to the empty spots where there is no bleed through.

Is there a simple explanation for this? 'True-bypass my asss! lol
