The Broncos are back in the slough of despond. Their first half was awful, including total inability to cover the ONE player that SanFran could beat them with. Kittle, the tight end, had over 200 yards in the first half. At times there was no one within 5 yards of him. That's both coaching and bad play.
There were signs of life in the second half, but the 49ers put a lid on the Broncos' running game, and the Bronco offensive line continued to do their impersonation of swinging saloon doors. As a result, Keenum was running for his life most of the time. One sports foof in Denver criticized all the 1-5 yard pass attempts (and throws completed behind the line of scrimmage) but it seems to me when the QB has all of 1.5 to 2 seconds to throw the ball, you're going to see a lot of short passes.
At this point, I think I favor the Browns next weekend.
At least the Packers played like they wanted it, and won their game.
