Good choices. I'm a life-long Steelers fan, but the only jersey I ever had was a Jack Lambert "58" back in the '70s. Jack Ham is from my hometown (Johnstown, PA). He was 2 years ahead of me, but at different high schools. He graduated in '66 from Bishop McCort H.S.. I graduated from Johnstown H.S. in '68. Jack Lambert once said that Jack Ham was the best linebacker he'd ever seen.

I loved that 1970s Steeler defense back then! What a group! Joe Greene, L.C. Greenwood, Dwight White and Ernie Holmes up front. Lambert & Ham (plus Andy Russell and others) at linebacker. Mel Blount and Donnie Shell at the safeties. Talk about some hitters!!

I was not really a Steelers fan back in the day, but I loved that defense! A couple of other great defenses from that era were the Vikings and the LA Rams. Good times.:cool:

My brother and I were Steelers fans back in the day and were always playing football in our front yard with whoever would play with us. More than anything, we wanted Lynn Swann and John Stallworth jerseys, but as my parents had 5 kids and not a lot of money, that wasn’t going to happen. So mom sewed black jerseys with the numbers 87 and 88 on the front and back. The other kids tried to make fun of us for the homemade attire, but we didn’t care and it made burning them for long TD catches all the more satisfying. We particularly liked the toe tap sideline catches, and would perform them even when they weren’t really called for.

I grew up outside Erie and lived in Pittsburgh during some of the glory years of the 70's. I was student, so paying the rent, putting food on the table and gas in the car were my priorities. I couldn't afford to buy jerseys or go to games. I have fond memories of coming home from Pitt each day and doing homework while listening to the call-in sports radio shows. It was the social media of the day, LOL.

There was a window of time where I couldn't stand Tom Brady. These days, I enjoy watching him play and win.
Now that I'm a little older, I've done a 180 on the man. I'll be sad when he retires.
Sorry Buffalo. I knew when the Bills settled for the game tying field goal that Tampa Bay was going to win that game in OT.
Tom Brady and Russell Wilson, the only two QB's in the NFL I'll never count out in games like that.

Then some magic voodoo will fall across the AFC North and the Steelers will win the division thus solidifying the belief in some that Tomlin is the greatest head coach the game has ever seen. :)
Well, until they get to the AFCCG where Mac Jones goes for 425 yards and Belichick yet again sends Ben and Mike home crying.
The worst part of this is Ben will say he doesn't want to go out that way and he thinks he still has something left to give the game and he'll announce he's returning for another season.

He did get a vote of confidence from the owner recently who I think is just as clueless as Urban.
The NFL should have never let rich kids buy teams with the only intention of having something 'cool' in their portfolio and to brag about to their friends while at the country club.

The Browns did just enough to win. It wasn't impressive, but I will take it. The Seahawks waked away in the fourth quarter. It should have been on ice long before then. I don't have high hopes for them even getting to .500 except for the Wilson factor. The Browns seem like they might be getting it together after a rocky stretch. I sure hope so.

Similar to my 'artistry' on my basic black football helmet I had as a kid. Despite growing up in the Pittsburgh area and although I was a Steelers fan, I also thought the LA Rams were cool. As an 8-yr-old kid, Roman Gabriel was my first football idol. So I took that plain black helmet and carefully made Rams horns logos out of numerous pieces of masking tape, trying to get it to look like a curved horn. It actually looked good considering the method. But yeah, the neighborhood kids didn't appreciate my handiwork and let me know it! :whistle:

What we'd do as well was use a marker to draw the player numbers on a t-shirt, then we'd tear the foot part off the sock off and use the tube top as sleeves for our homemade jersey.
I went through a stretch where Paul Coffman and John Jefferson from the Packers were my favorite players. I found some socks at Woolworth (rode my bike there with my buddies, then rode home excited to tell my mom what I found) with green stripes on them and convinced my mom I needed new socks. Boy was she sore at me when she found out what I did to those socks.
It was worth it though, I was John Jefferson now!!! :)
