NFL 2022-2023

Schobert hits the road and Colbert takes a chance on Myles Jack. I seem to have good memories of him from UCLA, then he went to Jacksonville and never heard from him again.
Next up, send Bush on down the road. He'd look good in a Browns uniform. :)

I think the Steeler's pulled a fast one with Jack. The only concern I would have is he played poorly seemingly because the team was doing so poorly. If it was a ploy to get traded, it worked, but what if the Steeler's struggle? Will he disappear again? He's young, 26? I think the culture change will rejuvenate him. If not, they didn't give too much for a reclamation project.

Time for Baker Mayfield to capitalize on those acting skills he's spent the last few years so finely tuning.
Does Progressive have any full time positions open I wonder?
In the meantime, Cleveland trades one headcase for another.

-Mike

Browns gave three first round picks and one third. If Watson doesn't work out, they are totally screwed.

Yep, Houston worked over Cleveland in that deal. Watson is damaged goods (ACL rebuild on each knee), hasn't played an NFL game in over a year, and although cleared is carrying some misconduct baggage. At least he's young, he has that going for him.
Still, I feel bad for Cleveland. I wonder if they upped the money and picks after he told them 'no'. If so, that's some classic bargaining when the buyer is desperate. I need to see if I have anything Jimmy Haslam might want to buy from me. :D

I'm wondering, did the NFC, as a conference, decide to mail it in this off season, or did the AFC decide there really only needs to be one division.... for the next decade.

Just an odd off season.

On the Titans front it feels a bit like the old regime... I'm getting serious Mike Reinfeldt vibes ... ala the Fisher-ball era. This team is a paper tiger. They have zero depth at any position group. The FA acquisitions seem like they're going for a participation award.

Welcome back to Green Bay Aaron, we just traded your #1 target.

-Mike
You reap what you sow AR but now apparently he knew Adams wasn't coming back when he signed his 3 yr $150mil contract. Pack was 7-0 without Adams last couple seasons. He's fragile and nearly 30yo. Pack did the right thing sending his ash packing.

ESPN reported this morning that when Rogers signed, he was aware this trade was coming. Here is more reporting of it:

Davante Adams trade: Aaron Rodgers catching heat online after deal - Sports Illustrated

Yep, it was no surprise for Rodgers.
One thing I do respect about Rodgers is he made his intentions clear. He wanted to get paid by Green Bay. He did. Knowing his salary was going to force the team to make cuts in other areas shows his intentions, and that's cool by me as long as guys are honest about it.

At what price? Deshaun Watson trade might cost Browns more than money, draft picks.
A rather damning article about the Browns desperation to acquire Watson.
In particular, stripping all those draft picks from their GM who has shown himself quite capable in drafting NFL quality players. Now, he has less to work with for the next three years.
Or the sneaky way the money was structured to help Watson dodge a big fine should the NFL end up disciplining him for PCP violations. That there is shady.
Jimmy Haslam is bad for the NFL, and we're seeing yet again why.
