Tua's arm strength is much better than most think. Go look at his college tape. In Miami, he has been forced to get rid of the ball in a hurry so rarely has he been able to throw downfield. On top of that, he should never played his rookie year except some mop up duty, his hip was not ready at that point. Then he played most of last year with a couple busted up ribs and a broken finger on his throwing hand. All courtesy of the right tackle letting him get creamed at the beginning of the 1st Bills game.

It comes down to this with him now, Grier has addressed just about as much as one could in the offseason and given better protection and better skill position players. If Tua does not show much better this year they WILL draft his replacement next year. That's why they have two 1st round picks in the bank next year so they can package them with others to move up and get a different QB. So it's all about Tua this year.

Bridgewater is their insurance policy. If Tua struggles, I'm certain he will be pulled quickly.

I heard a couple of commentators last night spouting off about how this reduces competition.

That's not the point. The point is fairness.

NFL is the only league where an OT doesn't provide each team a chance to win. Ridiculous, and it has been offensive for years.

And I strongly disagree with the "if you wanted to win, you had the chance for 60 minutes" argument. That makes no sense. You did your best to win for 60 minutes, it's really a new game when you start OT, and both teams must have a chance to win or the OT is meaningless. The current OT is meaningless when the team that wins the coin toss wins 7 out of 10 games.

It will only be in the playoffs in 2022, but hopefully becomes the rule in all games in 2023.

My idea is treat OT like any other quarter change. When regulation ends, swap sides of the field and put 7:30 on the clock. Coin flips are only fair because after the half the other team gets the ball. This way, strategy comes into it big time. Do you make a risky play to win it or sustain a normal drive? In OT do you milk the clock risking coming up short? Do you score fast and leave it in your defenses hands? The better coach will probably win.

I dunno, he did OK behind one of the best offensive lines and running games in the NFL. How's he going to do behind what Seattle is putting on the field? Can he improve on the seven wins Russell Wilson got from what Seattle has to offer?
