Yes, but it can't be ignored that two key penalties made the jobs easier. The FG in the AFCCG was no gimmie without that personal foul penalty. It still wasn't, but at 41 yards everyone felt better about it over the option of it being 56 yards.
I don't think anyone here disputes the quality of player Patrick Mahomes is, it's just convenient that the other teams commit penalties at the most opportune time for KC.
I personally don't think the refs made calls for KC, and we know the Philly player even admitted he was holding. There's really no controversy if it was a penalty or not there, or the AFCCG.
It's all part of the big picture in winning a Super Bowl in my opinion. Sure, you need a few excellent players, but there's a whole bunch of other things that need to go in your favor along the way. Player health, tipped balls, turnovers, execution, officiating, play calling, etc. Otherwise, the best team on paper would win every year.
