NFL 2024-2025

This is kinda funny, considering the Bills got called for exactly one (one!) penalty the entire game last night.

More importantly, compare roughing-the-passer flags for Josh Allen and Mahomes. They became starters the same year. Mahomes has drawn 31 roughing penalties. Allen, despite playing 9 fewer games, has drawn...38. Yet all the focus is on Mahomes' calls, I guess because KC is so successful.

The Lions just couldn't overcome 5 turnovers and countless defensive injuries. It's truly remarkable how many they've suffered--yes, they even had guys starting last night who weren't on the two-deep depth chart.

For the Lions, the straw that broke the camels back was when Amik Robertson broke his arm. This was team with that could only stop the run by crowding the line of scrimmage and had the practice squad on half the defense. It wasn't just back-ups because they were out too. Daniels literally knew that on every pass play he was going to have at least two WR's and tight end wide open against a team that couldn't rush the passer. I think the offense began to press when Robertson went down. I'm also not sure Goff was 100% after that helmet hit (ridiculous penalty miss on that one). Because Goff played great in all three playoff games last year. And he had a way from coming back from mistakes with excellent stretches of games.

I'm settling in to the idea that come February 9th, there won't be a compelling reason for me to watch the Super Bowl. Like a few of you, I just don't care about any of these remaining teams.
If it's cold enough, maybe we'll head to the lake to do some ice skating or pond hockey.

Sounds like a plan to me. Except for the frozen lake thing. As you know, we don't usually do that out here.

It's a tribute to the coaches, especially the DC, that the Lions got as far as they did with the tattered remains of their team.

Refs did Dawkins dirty for sure.

No, it's because the calls for Mahomes are bogus, haha. Seriously though, the NFL needs KC to win, that is obvious.
A Buffalo Super Bowl is going to be watched by who? A handful of die hard football fans and most everyone in that corner of the USA. There's no money in that for the NFL.
Josh Allen and......ummm...the guy who almost died a couple years ago? Maybe Von Miller who was great 10 years ago?
Or .....Mahomes, Kelce, Jake from State Farm, Swift, Reid, now that's going to draw way way more people who want to spend money to gamble, buy NFL stuff, stuff that sponsors the NFL, and so on.

Jerry Jones and Co. have dropped the ball too many times. KC is the new America's Team.

There are more folks rooting for Buffalo than you think, being the only NY team that doesn't play in NJ. In addition to that fans are sick to death of the Chiefs.

America's Team was the Patriots for far far longer than the Cowboys have ever been (as a Raiders fan that kills me but it's true). More accurately described as Texas' team.

Jerry is the Lord God High Executioner of the NFL so he can name the team anything he darn well wants except the truth.

The Cowboys are the only team I like less than the Patriots.

The Pats were irrelevant for a very long time and are now back to being a dumpster fire. The Cowboys are always on the verge of being really good, but are not the nemesis for Steelers fans that they were back in the day. The Ravens are solidly in first place for my hate.
