No, it's because the calls for Mahomes are bogus, haha. Seriously though, the NFL needs KC to win, that is obvious.
A Buffalo Super Bowl is going to be watched by who? A handful of die hard football fans and most everyone in that corner of the USA. There's no money in that for the NFL.
Josh Allen and......ummm...the guy who almost died a couple years ago? Maybe Von Miller who was great 10 years ago?
Or .....Mahomes, Kelce, Jake from State Farm, Swift, Reid, now that's going to draw way way more people who want to spend money to gamble, buy NFL stuff, stuff that sponsors the NFL, and so on.

The NFL is deep in bed with professional gambling and having made themselves more an entertainment offering rather than just football they answer to more powerful people and companies than your average NFL fan.
It's not like the gambling industry is packed full of fine upstanding individuals.
Heck, the NFL has already suspended coaches and players, some of whom were also then cut, for breaking the NFL rules around gambling on games.
It would be naive to believe these games are being played without influence from those other special interests Roger Goodell has to answer to.
Besides all of that, we've all been talking for years about superstars getting calls. I don't think it's a conspiracy theory to think some of those 31 calls for Mahomes came because of who he is. Phantom calls for superstars are a part of sports.

Sure, superstar calls have happened in all sports for a long time. I don't think that translates into the NFL needing KC to win. More to my point in this Chiefs vs. Bills discussion, Mahomes is a superstar, but Allen is close to that status level. Am I supposed to believe that Mahomes gets favorable treatment while Allen does not, even though the latter guy has drawn 20%+ more roughing calls? That doesn't make sense.

I also do not want to come off as if I think the NFL fixes games or plays with the rules of the game to give the money making team any given dynasty an edge. Heavens no.

However, I am saying that games have rules and business has policies. Two different things despite the fact that businesses convince us that policy=laws/rules and that is not even remotely true. Even though you are told that policy is immutable, such as when you want to return an item to the store, policy in business is allllways flexible for the business owner (looking squarely at you AT&T). After all, who sets and reviews the policies in the first place?

All sorts of shenanigans in business happen because of 'policy' and what I was trying to say is that I'm sure the NFL also has a lot of 'policies' that are 'modified' on a 'case by case basis' to 'assist' keeping the money flowing when the good times are rolling.

I stand by my piggies comment, though. Piggies at the trough will always eat more.
