NFL 2024-2025

And just like that, the Lions have lost both their offensive and defensive coordinators.

Likely a new QB for the Jets, and a young one at that, along with a DC for the head coach. I'm not exactly sure that's a good fit, even though Glenn is a good DC.
You probably know the history better than I do @GregC but I'm feeling like a DC as HC and young QB haven't fared well in the NFL.

It was a great season…

I suppose we're going to find out how much of that success of the Lions offense was Ben Johnson and how much of that was Gibbs, Montgomery, Goff, St. Brown, LaPorta, and such.
I'm thinking that Lion offense will hit the ground running next season with no problem.
I'm not much of a Caleb Williams fan, so I think Johnson may have put himself in a corner resting his HC career on that guy.

The Raiders didn't go with a retread the last few years with Antonio Pierce. That worked out...uh...it didn't work. Well, at least.

Um, yeah. Where's that rolodex, again? Carroll. It's close to the front alphabetically and all of the As and Bs have already declined.

Pete Carroll to the Raiders. NFL owners love the retreads, although to be fair the Raiders did take a couple chances recently on up and coming coaches.

The oldest coaches to ever win a Super Bowl have been Bruce Arians (68), Bill Belichick (66), and Andy Reid (65). Pete is 73, and I don't see the Raiders acquiring Tom Brady (at least on the field) or Patrick Mahomes anytime soon.

Yeah, until they had to win.

Watching the Detroit Lions turned me into a football fan. Return man Mel Gray and Barry Sanders made for fun highlights.

I had to move to Texas to watch them develop into a better team. Now the Cowboys are Wayne Fontes era Lions.

No guarantees in the NFL. Lotta teams have great seasons and go dark in the playoffs.

Daniels was game, but his teammates' 3 fumbles and a great Philly defense were too much to overcome. And Philly's offense was amazing.

Mahomes has 3 career playoff losses--1 in the Super Bowl, and 2 in the AFC title game. The latter two were both in overtime. I think he'll find a way to squeak this out. But I certainly won't be surprised if the Bills win.

I was running sound for a jazz society concert, so I only got to see the first half of the Washington/Philly game. Those fumbles did them in. Great season for the kid and the Washington team, and I look forward to watching them in the future.

I totally missed the second game, but it looks like a typical skin-of-their-teeth KC victory. Oh well. None of the teams I really wanted to go to the SB made it, but even though I'm tired of watching the Chiefs, I really dislike Philly, so I guess I'll be pulling for the Chiefs. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and all that. 🤷‍♂️ At least I'll be able to hang out with some other bass players and eat chicken and belch and whatnot and yell at the TV, which is always fun. Some of those guys I only see once a year, so it's all good!

The bad guys always win, so tired of it all... I'm a Vikings fan so feel so bad for Bills fans as I can relate completely. :sour:
I went to school in St. Paul so I feel the pain of Vikings fans. The Saints always made it better. It was fun watching the Twinks win the Serious in ‘92 or whenever that was. Kirby forever!

'87 and '91! Knew a guy who built cabinets for Kirby's cabin and hung with him a bit. He wanted to get him drunk on Grey Goose and take him out on his pontoon boat hehe.
