Those winters were LONG. Drummer I played with cut dry ice and we’d play boot hockey from time to time. I remember it was historically cold when Siamese Dream and Vs. came out. That was a long time ago.

As much as I enjoy watching sports, a dumb thing about The NFL is we're conditioned to think "when your team wins The SB it leaves a lasting legacy on the entire city/state!" Do you think one 14yr old girl in the entire state of Washington cares about Joe Gibb's SB wins in 1988 and 1991 lol? Even if their dad is really into sports and talks about it all the time they still probably don't care or be able to name one player on those teams.

Okie doke Art. Make sure you get that 9-8 season locked in now. You need a QB, so make it a priority to sign an old man who flamed out after 6-7 games or a guy who already proved he can't play QB in the NFL.

That's what I meant, oops. But seriously how many young people in Washington DC do you think care about the Joe Gibbs 3 SB wins from 1982-1991? People generally just care if they actually lived it. I bet most people under 30 couldn't even name the QB's on those teams much less anyone else.
Football fans in DC will know about it. Other than that, you are likely correct. But that's true about anything.

I can get behind that. Brady won three times as many Super Bowls as Lombardi did.
Heck if we wait a couple more years, what about Mahomes? You could even rename the game to the Swift Bowl. The halftime party could be various players lip syncing her best songs.

I got the feeling he didn’t want to coach badly enough to put up with the BS. I seem to remember him having the reputation for being incredibly smart, and not good at suffering fools. That would make it difficult to deal with most NFL owners.
But he's 70 and hasn't coached since 2007(!). That's a long time away from the game.
He also co-wrote Bill Walsh's famously fantastic book "Finding The Winning Edge". He knew how to win a Super Bowl.
