With throwing to the middle of the field and targeting tight ends, it looked like Tomlin let AR call the plays. It's like when Ben pulled out so many 4th quarter comebacks by taking over playcalling.
Agreed. The MNF cameras showed Rodgers looking to the sidelines with a smile and head nod a few times after that play and those like it worked. I took that as Rodgers confirming to Tomlin he knew what he was doing calling plays and Arthur Smith's services were no longer needed.
Our TB buddy Killing Floor (RIP brother) called it the day Tomlin signed Smith as a bad decision. He was right. Smith is Canada without the jet sweep, but worse. But since he is quiet and happy to have a job, Tomlin keeps him around.

As much respect as I’ve lost for Rodgers over the last few years, I don’t think he’s ever lost the ability to find the exact right play to make the defense stop and think. He’s shown that in a couple of games this year. That would mean a lot more if he had bothered putting in the time to prepare his receivers for when the moment came. Instead he’ll just yell at them after the fact, and probably throw them under the bus during his postgame press conference.

It’s not hard to figure out why the Packers didn’t need any more of his “leadership.”

The Dolphins coach is putting heat on Tua Tagovailoa about the loss Monday night when it was Tua who got them back in the game. If McDonald had any interest in winning that game, he could have. Don't bench Tua, bench McDonald.

It's a hot mess in Miami. They have major financial and salary cap issues compounding the decision process.

Something there is truly amiss, however.

Given Tua's concussions, might not be a bad thing for his long-term health.
It's pretty clear he's not the answer for Miami going forward. He stunk Monday night until the Steelers pulled starters and took their foot off the gas. Miami needs to see what they have in Ewers. Tua needs to move on to his next career, one that won't leave him with CTE.

As a HUGE Dolphins fan.
Tua was never going to be a QB to take the Fins to the promised land. I just hoped he could hang on until "the guy" came along. But on a scale of 1 to 10 based on what I've seen both QBs do I give Tua a 7 and Ewers a 5. Ewers had big issues at UT with not handling pressure. Good for him that UT had a very good OL. In the NFL there will be pressure.
They need to look for a real future QB.
I do hope Tua sees the light and moves on to the next phase of life. He can talk football. He would make a good color guy. If there's room somewhere for another former player color guy.

Crazy game. The Rams were +3 on turnovers, +166 in yards, +14 minutes in time of possession. Yet they still lost. Giving up a punt return TD and THREE two-point conversions while missing a FG, very ouch.
I would still take the Rams and Stafford over the Seahawks and Darnold in a playoff game, though.

Maybe I’m reading too much into a divisional rivalry, but last night’s game seemed like more evidence that every team in the NFC has huge flaws. It seems like all the top teams, and I’m including Green Bay despite the Parsons injury, have needed superior coaching to get where they are.

On a sillier subject, when did Seattle get to start claiming every shade of green for their team colors? And why do their jerseys look like they came from Hot Topic? Are they hoping to blind the opponent with glitter?

Well, for us old farts that know how to enjoy 6-3 defensive battles without looking at other stuff on our cell phones….eh….. NBA in pads….

I've never liked time of possession as a stat. Sometimes it can be telling. But mostly it's useless. One team has 6 minute drives for field goals. The other team has 2 minute drives for TDs. Winning team loses the TOP stat by a ton.
