NFL Off Season

Agreed on Bears fans. I have grudging respect for them, because they are loyal, and because they've been around as long as Packer fans. VIQUEEN fans on the other hand, get no respect. They are whining front runners who can't even sell out their baggy dome unless they are on a win streak. If there is a worse franchise in professional sports, I don't know who it is.

I think that's going a bit too far  :p I live in Chicago... I don't get any quarter for wearing my Packers shirt during the season around here... and I don't want one. I respect most fans, Bears fans included, who stick by their teams. And I've friends who are Bears fans, but that's not why they're my friends :D I have certainly enjoyed jawing with Jive and I'm sure we'd get along, but when it's down to football, well, it's all about what team you're on and playing competitively... gotta draw the line somewhere (mostly I'm just giving you a hard time Sundogue :D). That said, it's not cool to pick on anyone unfairly (unless it's the Vikings).

Wearing a Packers jersey in Chi-Town. I take it that you don't go to the South Side very often? ;) Either way, your testicles must be at least the size of a coconut or two.

I have friends who are Lions fans, Vikings fans, and Pukers fans. I find it much more fun to trash-talk with friends than strangers.

I can't wait till the season starts

Used to live in Hyde Park, is that South Side enough for ya? :D I've gotten guff on public transit, but, yeah, no threats of physical violence. Some jawing though... good stuff. I can appreciate a well-spun putdown even if it's at my own, or my team's, expense.

A-ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... the Lions will always be [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I enjoyed what deadspin has to say about it:

"I know that the NFL has rules, and that it’s very bad to break them. But I think the Detroit Lions players have, given their past performance, abandoned the right to complain about such things. It shouldn’t matter if Rod Marinelli has them engaging in fight-to-the-death kickboxing, they’re the Detroit Lions. Right or wrong, when a team is that bad, and they complain about a coach being too hard on them, just one word comes to mind, and it rhymes with pussy.

Anyway, as a result of their complaining, the league found that the Lions did break some rules, and they have mandated that the Lions forfeit two days of their off-season program. Players won’t have to be at the practice facility Monday or Tuesday, but will get paid anyway. I really think that’s what the Lions need. Paid time off."
