To say that Kitna is on par with Palmer is just ludicrus. Plus imagine Rothlisberger goes down. Do you really think Batch is as good? Kitna did ok in the first half, after that give me a break. How well did the Eagles do with their backup this year?

First off, I didn't say Kitna was on par with Palmer. I said he played well. I think everyone here would agree he DID play well, considering the circumstance.

Some backups suck, some backups kick ass. Using the McNabb example is poor unless you look at BOTH sides of the coin....

Let's see.... How well did Tom Brady play when Drew Bledsoe went out injured, hmmmm? How well did Ben Roethlisberger play when Maddox went down with an injury, hmmmmm?? I'll answer for you. Well enough to take the starting job away from the other. There are countless other examples of this also, but I feel two makes my point nicely.

You can call it ridiculous, but I would call it an intense rivalry. Cincy and Pittsburgh have been going back and forth all year. Cincy beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh to basically lock up the division just a few weeks ago, so every Steelers player had something to prove out there. Add to the fact that this was a playoff game, and the emotions are heightened even more. Playoff football baby...play hard or go home. The emotions in this weeks Pittsburgh and Indy game will be just the same, if not higher. Pittsburgh has been the top dog in the AFC for a few years, so they need to get some revenge.....one week at a time.

Like I said, I'm a diehard Pittsburgh fan.... But I'm also realistic. Not a chance in hell they will overcome the Colts.

I know a guy who swears they are the most underrated team this year, and that they will beat either Washington or Seattle in the Superbowl. He is a NE fan and knows his stuff. They like most of the good teams this year have had their injury problems which sets them back at times. I actually wouldn't be surprised if they beat Indy. We'll see this weekend. I would be surprised if they beat Denver or NE. But I was wrong on all the games this weekend except one.

It was funny, before the game, Dan Marino said that their defense is overrated. Now, I'd NEVER claim to know more about football than Dan Marino, but I thought that was just crazy to say that.

Don't feel bad, I was wrong on two outta four. I picked Pittsburgh, N.E., The Giants, and Tampa. Man was I wrong on that Giants game!!

Well with the way my predictions stand, one of us has about a week and a half before they have to "put up and shut up." I've been growing my hair back out for the rare chance that I lose this bet. I hope that stache is coming along nicely.

But, if the Donkeys and the Colts don't meet at all (i.e. NE beats Denver) the bet is null and void. I praying for a Denver victory though. Not because NE is a real threat to Indy, but it's about time for me to get a new avatar, either a side-ways pink mohawked fool or a blue and white pornstached fool.

Don't sweat it. I probably was a bit vitrolic myself. Dan Marino is crazy. The secondary with the exception of Polumalu is a little suspect at times, but the entire defense isn't overrated.

If Pitt can shore up the secondary a bit and get maybe a another decent receiver, and a little more experience for Ben, they will win the Superbowl in the next couple of years.

My biggest gripe with the Pitt/Bengals game was the fact that the refs waited so long to start calling personal fouls and then picked the wrong people.

Plus Kitna is just hopeless, no matter how much the commentators tried to spin it.

I'll take this even further. NE had the 29th best run defense in the NFL when they played. Since that game they have gone from the worst to the best. NE gave themselves a bye week by playing their second and third string against Miami.

Seymour didn't even play in the first game. Lets say that again just for effect. The best interior defensive lineman in the NFL didn't play that game. Vegas has it right. The game is evenly matched. Home teams get an automatic 3 points.

I agree with that. Knowing coming in to the game that it's a divisional rivalry and there's DEFINITELY no love lost between them, I would have thought the refs would have been a bit more trigger happy with the flags. It teetered on getting out of control, but I think they did a decent job of making most of the calls.

The one that ticked me off the most was that Polamalu call. I mean, like you said, he's a great safety. AND he plays every other position at times too. A very smart player, yet he pulls that crap with that one BIG penalty for a first down in the red zone. That was borderline on having him ejected I think. He knows better, but rivalry/emotion/and, as he said post-game, stupidity got in the way.
