For the record, I'm not on the bandwagon. I think they are a good team. Nothing more. I'm an Indy fan and always will be. Heck, I even root for the Cardinals!MJ5150 said:

I agree. Unfortunately, the way the Steelers have been playing they just seem to shoot themselves in the foot every chance they get. I know they have way more talent than their record shows but they just can't put it together for some reason. I guess it's just SB hangover.SomecallmeTim said:

Take that information about the Saints offensive line, look at the 3 recievers they put out on the field, and understand that if you don't DOUBLE at least two of 'em (Horn & Colston), they will torch you. Oh, and the other guy, Devery Henderson, if he takes off, you have NO ONE that will keep up with him - no one. If you do double them, you lose run support, and eventually Duce starts hurting you on the ground. Also, Bush WILL eventually break out, and you'd better hope it isn't against YOU.
Translation: You'd better worry about the Saints offense "in isolation", they can really hurt even a good defense, when they're on. Their only losses came when the offense didn't play THEIR game, which I don't think the Steelers can take them out of.
Do I know what will happen, no. However, unless something unusual happens, like the loss against the Ravens (a team the would have beaten had the Saints not given the ball away SIX times!

I guess you can't blame over enthusiasm and over estimating the Saints, when they've been so bad for so long. They are average. There have been getting some breaks, some of which have been by their own making. They aren't a bad team anymore, but they aren't in as good a position as our beloved Gardman thinks either.

...I don't think they're world-beaters, I doubt they'll make it "all the way", but they are a for-real solid NFL football team that will certainly still be playing after the 17th weekend, and has every reason to have hope to be playing the last game. Unlike, say....er...well, the Yackers.

Yikes, Gard. You make the Saints offense sound like the 2001 Rams or something. Horn and Colston are good and all, but double teams every time? Yeah, okay. And sure, Henderson can stretch the field, but I don't think the Steelers are going to let him just run loose out there - plus the guy has only had one really good game this season.
The Saints are unquestionably talented on the offensive end, but I think you're dissing the Steelers D a little bit here. This is pretty much the same defense that beat up on the Colts last season in their own house. And let's not forget the Saints' performance against Balti's D, which is actually very similar to that of Pitt. I'm not predicting a shutout or anything, but the Saints aren't going to be out there playing catch with a nerf ball.
In the end, I'm still pretty sure this game comes down to whether Ben and the offense return to form and stop turning the ball over so much. I'm also legitimately scared of Reggie Bush as a return man, considering the woeful special teams play of the Steelers lately. But I won't be tossing and turning in bed on Saturday night worrying about Drew Brees throwing for 400 yards and 3 TD's and Deuce rushing for 150...sorry.

Tim, Brees put up 383 yards and 3 TDs against Baltimore, in an OFF game. So, YEAH, he could just very well put up 400 yards and 3 TDs against the Steelers "similar defense"!

It's been a few years since the Saints looked this good. So guys like Gard start flipping out and talking up their team like they are unstoppable. The eventually start back pedaling and calm down once you call them out.
The thing that cracks me up is it has only been EIGHT games. The Saints could easily stumble a few more times this season and find themselves out of the playoffs. We'll see just how mighty this Saints offense is in a couple months.
Let me expand on your logic Gard.....you take away the plethora of Steeler turnovers this season, and they are 6-2 or 7-1. The game this Sunday would be a Steeler blowout, for sure. With the way the Steeler offense has been scoring and racking up yards lately, I'd love to see a turnover free shootout at Heinz Field Sunday.

Armed by a QB that had a 383 yard, 3 TD performance in a losing (but not by much) effort against a team that is measurably superior to the Steelers.

Well hey, if he throws three picks, I'll give him the 3 touchdowns. Giving up garbage touchdowns sure didn't upset Ravens fans, and it won't upset me!
I must admit, though, Gard - you are truly one of the finest smack talkers on TB. It's a shame that the Saints have given you so little material to work with since...well, since forever I guess.

If you are going to throw out turnovers, then throw them out. Don't come back with the "it was only one game" addendum now. Throw out the TO's, and the Steelers are for sure 6-2, and maybe even 7-1. I think the only team Pittsburgh actually lost to was the Jags.
