NFL Week 12

Odd, but I was thinking something like this yesterday. That's what happens when your loves are music and football.

Bassists are the O-line. In many ways, but we're also like tight ends and fullbacks. We make the rest of the team better, but we can make plays ourselves.

I was thinking of the drummer as more like the RB. They take a bruising, set the pace of the game, and are physical. If you get the ground game going, you'll usually win. If the drummer is on, you have a good gig.

Singers are like the QB in that they direct traffic and are the center of attention.

Guitards are like WRs. Whiny, needing constant affirmation, egotistical, attention seeking, and complaining when they don't get enough plays going to them. They also tend to be locker room cancers . Can't you see TO playing guitar?

The Colts intangible-ably kicked that ass two years in a row in Foxboro.

Also, the very tangible Rodney Harrison is out for the season, which hurts their chances even further in a rematch.

Eli is like his big brother in one important way. They both like time to throw the ball. From what I have seen, Eli doesn't get that time. Maybe benching some of the starting linemen would be a better idea?

I like Indy but they are the 80's Bills, always close but no cigar. They are not a complete team. JMO

Drummers are tough - I see them more as the O-line. Joe Strummer used to say a band is only as good as its drummer (one of the smarter guitarists ever, may he RIP) . An offense is only as good as its O-line. No O-line, no holes for the RB and no time for the QB to throw.

I searched for guitarist and football and only came up with Jim Irsay - owner of the Colts
Craig Terril - DT Seahawks (unlikely I would call him a guitard to his face)

Even though Dungy wants everyone to believe that Bob Saunders is replaceable, he makes that defense work. Check out the games where he played, the defense is actually decent like it was year.

What happened to Freeney this year? He was a monster last season, and now he seems to have dropped off 1 or 2 levels.

I always liked this guy. So sad to see it happen, especially the part about maybe ending his career. I suppose he could catch on with the Raiders and reunite with Sapp.

Since this is a bass forum, I figured I'd throw this out there.

It's a design I might be implementing on a future bass. If it works out, I hope to do similar things for other teams.

It's not one of my better photoshops, but it gets the idea across.

That's a real shame, Simeon is a great player. I didn't realize his career numbers were so prolific (121 sacks!), though...hopefully he can rehab and be back next season.
