What happened to Freeney this year? He was a monster last season, and now he seems to have dropped off 1 or 2 levels.
He is still a great pass rusher, but his sacks have diminished.

jive1 said:Since this is a bass forum, I figured I'd throw this out there.
It's a design I might be implementing on a future bass. If it works out, I hope to do similar things for other teams.

It's not one of my better photoshops, but it gets the idea across.
Yeah, it'd be one I'd do if things work out. I'd love to dangle a Green and Gold bass at Cheeze to make his GAS pains swell.dangnewt said:Cool idea - hope it works out for you. I'd get the Packer one in the works as well. In terms of NFL apparel sales, I've never seen more people wearing their colors then when I am visiting my inlaws in Milwaukee.
Good idea, never thought of itI wonder if the Bear logo would be more visible while playing if it were moved closer to the neck?
For this bass it would be a Lakland, since it's mainly for me at this point. One of my favorite basses, my favorite team, built in one of my favorite cities and hometown, Chicago. The whole Karma and Mojo would be more fitting if it were a Lakland.Would you do it with Laklands? My initial reaction is that that might be too high end; maybe something along the line of MIM Fender? Then again, a Bear Lakland would be a Chicagoland twofer.

"If the Bears keep winning, I will make the bass. If they end up fading away as the season goes on, then forget it!!"

dangnewt said:How about football-shaped knobs and a gridiron pickup cover for the humbucker? Helmet fret markers?
Jive - you could be the Paulie Teutel of basses!
jive1 said:I dunno about the football shaped knobs, but helmet fret markers would be interesting.
Maybe a team logo as a 12th fret inlay.
What a COOL idea!!!!dangnewt said:...Goalpost string trees?...

From looking at it again, I think a solid finish would do better than a translucent.
cheezewiz said:yeah...definintely a solid finish. I want J pickups and a rosewood board too.![]()
The thing this year is that a lot of teams are double teaming him to death. He gets a mixed combo of lineman, RB, TE, FB's. They really work at shutting him down in every game.jive1 said:A good pass rusher, maybe.
He's not the same dominant rusher that blows past tackles like last year. After the BAL game last year, when he was using and abusing Ogden, I thought this guy is going to dominate. He did last season, but he's not like that anymore.
Still solid, but not dominant.

jive1 said:Actually I've been dreaming about something like this for a while. I have to admit, I would change the design based on the outcome of the season. But it's WAY too early to put Superbowl XLI champs on it.
So, does a bass like this appeal to you?
