Anyone else think that the MVP award is between Brees and Tomlinson?

Brees should get the "Who gives a crap my team went 9-7 and barely got to the playoffs, I threw for 6500 yards" award. I believe it is called the Grossman.

I think it's between LT and Peyton Manning and really LT would win that because the Colts could somehow function without Manning; possibly making the playoffs with Sorgi. The Chargers wouldn't even be a blip on the playoff radar without LT.

I think that dissing Brees so lightly is a bit much. As it looks to me, Brees is easily as valuable as any other player is to his team this season. If your criteria is that your team wouldn't have a reasonable chance to finish in the playoffs if you weren't there, Brees is just as valid a choice as is LT (who I think is an amazing player, and more importantly a good human being).

Oh, and I think you're smokin' crack if you really believe the Saints end up 9-7. 12-4 is crazy talk, but I'd say 10-6 or 11-5 is more realisitic, based on their schedule:

San Francisco - you're nuts thinkin' they will lose this one
Dallas - tough game, in the Cowpatties home, but winnable for the Saints (and on national TV! )-
Washington - house of cards, snuck under the radar yesterday against the Panthers, but won't in the 'Dome
NY Gints - depends on which team shows up, if it's the guys that were on the field yesterday, notch a W for the Black & Gold
Panthers - revenge for the close game in Charlotte, Saints should end the season with a W at home

You're saying they will only win ONE of these last five?

Ha! I knew I'd bait you into that one, Adam... sorry, I had to...

I've watched many of the Saints games this year and Brees is really doing a lot with not a lot around him... he gets the ball out very quick, easing up the pressure on his o-line and he's spreading the ball around... you'd think they'd be hurting more from the loss of Colston, but he's just getting the ball somewhere else.

There's no doubt that Peyton's in the top three QBs (most likely the top) but Brees is just having such a huge year with a new system, a rookie coach, a traditionally bad team, a young supporting cast, and an up and down defense... I think that speaks volumes...

That said, I do think if he keeps playing like he has been, it should be Tomlinson's year for the MVP... since he'll probably end up with over 2000 all purpose yards, many of them that he's had to work hard for and over 30 TDs (with a TD pass or two). And he's simply the funnest player to watch on a consistent basis.

Michael Turner is a good RB in the NFL. He would do just fine in the San Diego offense. No where near LT of course.

But last night as I laid in bed with a sour look on my face, my wife calmly said "Honey, I'm sorry your Bears lost." I felt better for 2 seconds, and then resumed being a grouch.

Worst was when I was in Chicago for the playoff game last year. My mother who knows nothing about football other than tackling the guy with the ball, and watched the game only to see if I might be on TV, said to me with a thick Korean accent, "The Bears sure had a hard time stopping Steve Smith". That just about broke my heart, because if she could deduce that, it meant we really did suck.

Funny story about your mom. When I was watching the game yesterday, my mom says to me..."why aren't the Steelers scoring?". I almost cried.

I'll support what I said with this: LT opens up that offense. He can burn the best Ds in the league with his feet and his arm, but another thing he does is let the receivers face no coverage or single coverage because the defense is trying to contain the run all day.

That is I why I'm happy the Colts running is starting to shine again, because if Harrison and Wayne are doubled all night, I know Addai or Rhodes can get the tough yards and pick up the slack.

You're in denial as you don't want to have to face the fact that you're going to be sporting a new sig for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs.

Remember? The Bears were the Staleys then they moved to Chicago. I don't recall what year the Card came but I'm sure it was after the Bears.

Correct, the Bears were the Staleys and moved to Chicago in 1921. Wrong, they weren't there first.

The Cardinals got their start in Chicago in 1898. I quote:
