NFL Week #12

Well, the Pack's pass defense will be tested if Brees gets to stand back there and pick us apart. So I see our D-line and LB's as being key to the game.

If Hawk keeps playing MLB like he did against the Bears, and Chillar plays the TE close, I can see us taking this from NO.

I also think our rushing game is paramount to winning. We have to keep their offense off the field as much as possible and give our D a rest.

Should be a great game.

Week #11 was very good to me ..... :D. Now for week #12:

The Superbowl Champion New York Football Giants go out to Arizona. This could be a scary week for the Giants with the Cards at 7-3, especially after Arizona had a little bit of trouble getting past the Seahawks. I would have felt better if the Cards had continued scoring at will, 'cause they might have been overconfident in their offense and let their guard down against the Champs. Instead, they'll likely be more aware that they can be shut down sometimes. Even so, I'm hoping for another Giants conference win here with continued distance put between the Champs and everyone else. NYG 33, ARI 27 in a "closer than you would think" game ...

The Steelers continue to tough it out, and are in decent shape at 7-3 hosting the Bengals. These are always tough games, lots of rivalry, lots of hitting .... Pittsburgh should use this week to show that there is still a bunch of gas in the tank and shut down Cincinnatti early. Expecting a strong showing by the Steelers. PIT 30, CIN 10

I would actually love to see the Jets beat the Titans for a whole bunch of reasons, but regardless of the final score I think it will be good to see Tennessee playing against a tougher defense. If Favre(Farve??) can keep on being a little more careful and avoid the INT's again this week, it could be a big, big game for the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets. I actually don't care much who wins, but it'd be cool if the Jets came out on top in this one. NYJ 28, TEN 24

This is a "must win" for the Saints, if they get that, they'll be up for it and take one away from the Pack.

If they don't get it, well...another long disappointing season from a team that is underachieving with the best of 'em.

It should be interesting. A great passing offense against the best secondary in football.

Ho-hum, the Bengals come to town. Steelers beat up on these un-loveable losers.

You see...when the Saints lose, I feel bad. That is a good group of guys all around. I like them all pretty much. It's hard to hate them, so when they lose it makes me sad. When the Bengals lose.....the only thing that makes me sad is that it wasn't a bigger blowout.

Nope. I was correct. The Packers D line and linebackers are not the best in the NFL, hence the "non number 1" pass D rating. However, NO ONE in the NFL has a secondary as good as Harris, Woodson, Williams, Collins, and Bigby. Of course it's objective, but I for one believe it.

Hmm...I believe team defense is more important than single player stats, or even "group" stats (and where are those stats supporting your position?).

I admit my Saints have one stinky D, and we're 5-5 because our offense is typically overwhelming (and when they're not you see things like what happened in Carolina and Atlanta...), not because our D is worth a hoot. If our D were even a "middle of the pack" overall outfit, we'd probably be at least 7-3 or 8-2 right now. The only game we got blown out of was the Panthers game, every other one (including the Falcons last week, like it or not, the last Falcons score was on an interception that ended a drive that would have tied the game, so the score was more lopsided than accurate) they were in until the end.

Just a sampling (not exactly Moss or Owens)...

here's how the last five No. 1 receivers (for their respective team) have fared against Green Bay:

• Seattle's Bobby Engram: shut out.

• Indianapolis' Reggie Wayne: two catches, 24 yards.

• Tennessee's Justin Gage: shut out.

• Minnesota's Bernard Berrian: shut out.

• Chicago's Devin Hester: one catch, 7 yards.

Most teams recognize how good GB's pass defense is, even if their fans can't. ;)

Oh, and by the way...The Packers last three losses have been by a combined seven points, and their margin of defeat for the entire season is an average of six points.

Yeah, I did quit watching the game yesterday. The Steelers game was a dog. Boring with a capital R. I didn't give up on my team, I just excused myself for the afternoon while they ineptly bumbled around on the field.

I won't bail on my guys, but when they play boring football like yesterday, I've got better things to do.

Oh yeah, I forgot no one has exactly taken the NFC Norse by storm this year. None of y'all have been any good since we came through your conference in 2005 and kicked everyones butts. Your turn Gard!!

Not that our division is a world beater, but I'm afraid to lose a game with the Ravens breathing down our necks.
