NFL Week #13

There. You just predicted the future of Josh McDaniels. Minnesota hire him next season, you heard it here first.
That I do not buy. Leslie Frazier is pretty respected in these parts. More importantly, McDaniels' style ("young & brash") doesn't particularly play well in conservative Minnesota -- especially under the Vikes current ownership.

Besides, what has McDaniels ever done? I think Frazier has a much better resume.

Dunno Doc. I think they are for real.

As are....the Browns,, albeit too late to do anything about it. Only two games they lost more than 3 points. I KNOW I am saying the same crap Browns fans have been saying for years...but I think we're pretty good, and will get better.

Cribbs, one of the best players in the NFL IMO. Hillis, and McCoy are rising to the top as well.

I know...as a Browns fan, all I got is HOPE at this point...but I think we're gonna be contenders next year.

Attention Jets, did you forget you were supposed to field a team tonight?

They did look bad. But I think it was a fluke for the Pats to destroy them like they did. The Patriots defense is not that good, nor is the Jets defense that bad.

Other than the lack of defense, most of what I saw tonight was receiver error, too many dropped balls that should've been caught. The Jets offensive line played great, but that's about it.

Actually, I didn't see *bad* play the Jets at all, what I saw was *great* play by the Pats. Huge difference - the Pats put a beat down on the Jets in every phase of the game, and earned a decisive win against a great football team. And while the Jets D hasn't appeared that bad this season, the NE offense *is* that good.

As far as the Pats defense goes, Bellichick is a defensive guru. Is it so hard to believe that he's building them into his system and they're finally hitting their stride? I think not.

I think Brady nailed it in his postgame interview: "It was just our night". Kinda reminded me of the Celtics smashing the Lakers by 39 in the last game of the finals in 2008. The Celts weren't 40 points better than the Lakers, but they were on that night. Hats off to the Pats for finding their groove and handing out an artistic ***-whooping. The Jets need to take this as a reality check and move on, one play at a time.

As for the Steelers game, that was football at its best. Two great defenses slugging it out, and the game decided by a great defensive play. Blood, sweat, tears, and Polamalu. Great game.

Colts look like crap - no offensive line, no running game, can't stop anybody, and Peyton keeps throwing TD's to the wrong team. Their problems start with the O-line, and they need to start rebuilding there. A team that can't run at all can't expect much.

People keep talking smack about the Falcons, but they keep winning. Yeahbut.... yeahbut nothing. They will have to be dealt with.

You are right that close isn't good enough. The Packers have lost 4 games this year by a combined 12 points. Close doesn't count.

You're right about that. But I think his premise was accurate. The Browns have improved tremendously over what they were for the past several years. For a long time, they were the laughingstock that nobody took seriously. If you don't take them seriously now there's a good chance you could be embarrassed by a solid spanking. They're on the right track for sure.

As for the Pats beatdown of the Jets, they looked like an unstoppable machine. VERY impressive. I'm not a Pats fan, but I respect them tremendously. And I actually had to sit there and laugh every time Welker or Whitehead touched the ball. They both look so small, but they are SOOO friggin' quick!! I know it's only one game, but if they (the Pats as a team) keep playing like that, it'll be on to Dallas for another Super Bowl shot. And they HAVE been playing like that since the embarrassing loss to the Browns. Looks like all that did was wake up a sleeping giant...

The Jets had one victory against a team that had a better than 500 record going into the game, and too many of those were squeakers. They were clearly the weakest 9-2 team in a long time. The Patriots, on the other hand, while saddled with a very young defense, were coming together, getting better each week. No one should be at all surprised by the victory. The extreme lopsidedness of the victory, sure, but not by who ended up with the win.
What Brady is accomplishing with a collection of rookies and rejects from other teams is flat out astonishing. This season should convince any but the most emotionally driven naysayers that he deserves his reputation as the best QB of his era and one of the best of all time.

"Belicheat"? Really? What are you, 12?

i agree with your point of view about the brownies. they're a better team than their record shows. mccoy is a force to be reckoned with, i think, and is only gonna get better.

interested to see how they come about next year.

Da Bears have got to be worried after what the saw last night. They'd better bring the very best defense to have a hope of stopping the Patriot Juggernaut. But I still have some nagging doubts in the back of my head about the Pats D. Are they as good as they looked last night, or was the Jets O overrated all along? We'll know when the Pack comes to Foxboro in two weeks. I have a feeling a lot of questions will be answered in that game.

I don't feel so bad about the Steelers getting tore up by the Patriots now. The Jets are a good football team....or are they???? :D

Colin Cowherd had a good take on Brady vs. Sanchez and Belichik vs. Ryan. Granted, Cowherd is a Patriot honk, but he still made some good points.
